Folded arms
Spilling decaff is like crashing a ped.
Go and spill something proper, then come and report back here.

With extra tassels. And maybe a screaming eagle, or at least a mildly irate one.

Had the back tyre squirming under braking in the wet at about 06:30 New Years morning.... if that counts?

(I'm one of the penny pinchers that worked a night shift over the New Year festivities Wink )

Might be candidate for number 1

Nice ride today enjoying the sunshine, 50 miles later get back home, take the bike around to the garage at the back, rode over some mud, front washed out and bike went over.

Damage to me - None
Damage to bike - scuffed crash bung and broken front screen. No idea how that happened other than I may have kicked it as I fell forward over the bike! Embarassed

Just ordered a new puig screen to make myself feel better!

Number 2

Slow speed low side on a roundabout very close to home. Tipped the bike over a little too far, with damp roads, and it slid. First off for me since I got my license in July.

Damage to bike - minor corner scuff to front fairing by light. Belly pan minor scuff. Pannier scrape, but it was already scraped there anyway. Front indicator not working, but I'm sure the wire just came loose as it didn't get any impact. Anything else just fixed back in position, and the pannier probably stopped more damage to me or the bike.

Damage to me - Slight scrape to bike trousers and jacket.

All in all, not too bad at all.

oooh number 3 or 4 Laughing

Basic copypasta from thread.

Was riding around since about 9 this morning, heading back from broadstairs through deal and dover.

Came to this road...

https://maps.google.co.uk/maps?q=Jubilee+Way,+Dover,+Dover+District&hl=en&ll=51.131431,1.335611&spn=0.021383,0.055189&sll=53.800651,-4.064941&sspn=10.312438,28.256836&vpsrc=0&hnear=Jubilee+Way,+United+Kingdom&t=m&z=14&layer=c&cbll=51.127677,1.329836&panoid=2Y-FTra8fjKsNrBTRNBpsw&cbp=12,175.52,,0,8.96

Was leaning over to go round heading down the "hill."

As I got about half way I felt the back wheel wobble and squirm.
Shit my pants and closed the throttle to try and stand the bike up but it just fell to the floor

Following car driver stopped to help me up and had a compressor to re pump my tyre up. Was totally flat. Had a look over the tyre, no damage to tyre at all. When pumping the valve sounded dodgy but they gave me a valve cap to get home.

I have really screwed my back up and I'm off to hospital as I can hardly move, managed to get home after 40 miles of motorway in agony.

B'stard.

'They' say that it's not possible to see 'Black Ice'. It is just ice but not easy to see.

I use this rule. If it's nearly freezing then expect there to be ice.
If it was freezing the night before or has been for sometime expect places that don't get sunshine during the day to be icey.

Take it easy and watch for the places that could trap ground water etc.

Tyres are shitty on cold roads too. No soft compound with the 'micro' cleats winter tyres for bikes I can see yet.

Number 6 and a half

I say a half because it wasn't a real crash.

Was in the (empty) oncoming lane overtaking stuff approaching traffic lights. Truck pulled out without warning (or indeed looking) to move into right turn lane. Managed to swerve but his mirror hit my topbox, breaking one of the plastic lugs which secure it to the base plate.

Stayed upright, no other damage. Coulda been much, much worse Thumbs Up

You might want a bit more info before reaching conclusions; mind you that's not stopped you before. Middle Finger

Shortly beyond where I was the single left lane splits into two. The truck was just trying to nip up the same bit of road as me.
