Why are you restricting yourself to Somerset? Other than viewing, you can get a bike couriered from quite a way for less than £100!
But with a bike that may be a bit shabby anyway, you may want to look over it first. May be an idea to get a fellow BCFer to have a look for you if nearby ____________________ Rusty '02 Vito Camper + CBR600F3 |

I would ask, where have all the cheap bikes gone, full stop?
I've been looking for a hack for a while now, sub £500, 250ish, don't mind if it's a bit of a fixer upper, so long as it's mostly all there, but can't be bought.
I've been deliberately looking at stuff which I wouldn't expect to have much of a following, but even chinky stuff is making good money. ____________________ Things get better with age; I'm close to being magnificent........

I knew you were going to do that.
I reckon it's a bargain for someone if they can replace the exhaust system cheaply, but I've come to the conclusion that for me it would be too much work; if the exhaust has been changed then it's quite likely other modifications have been made. |

Like others have said, try widening your search. Im sure there are plenty of people on here who can go have a quick look over a bike for you if its local to them.
I bought my first bike on eBay, it was about 200 miles away. I took the gamble from the pictures and it paid off. I love a good road trip too ____________________ Current Ride: Daytona 600 |

There's just not much out there at the moment, people (like me) are likely waiting until early Spring to try and flog their heaps. ____________________ Biking is 1/20th as dangerous as horse riding.

Nope, I emailed hm as opposed to making presumptions, based on pictures.
Exhaust is gash I will admit, but seems like a decent genuine bike
19k miles, new front tyre, chain and sprockets done last year, biggest downfall is that it is yellow
But it is £500 atm and add this https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Suzuki-GSX600F-KATANA-98-03-Oval-Stainless-Steel-Exhaust-Silencer-Muffler-/270845900237?pt=UK_Motorcycle_Parts&hash=item3f0fac75cd
Brings it to around £620, saving you £130 ____________________ Stinkwheel: You have no right to free speech

Think you've got it bad.
Have a look at some of the prices here, in Cyprus :-
https://www.buysellmoto.com/layouts/index.php?dpn=0&view=4&wlan=en
I don't know whether anyone ever sells anything to be hoest!
I had to scour small ads and forums for ages to find anything reasonably priced. ____________________ "Everybody needs money, that's why they call it money!" |

Thanks Pits, useful link.
It's tempting, but the whole exhaust system has to be replaced, and to have gotten the bike running on over-sized exhaust pipes I'm sure some tinkering with the engine was done and I'm not competent enough to do put it back to normal. |

k'in hell just what is the OP expecting to buy for that sort of money
I would see the exhaust as a bonus compared to what the std system would likely look like after 12 years. End of the day its a £700 bike not a £7000 bike.
I paid £700 for my 1991 GPZ earlier this year and accepted that there would be some bits that were not origional on it
If I was looking for a bike now i would be buying it and travelling down to fetch it tomorrow lol. ____________________ Hyosung cruise 125(passed test on, sold) Kawasaki el 252 (better than expected but sold on) Kawasaki GPZ500S first "big"bike.(sold) ZZR600 E5..Z750 2007,ER5, currently on a 2008 Enfield bullet electra x and loving it..

As said, it's £700.
Also, it won't have had any engine work. Maybe carb jetting at most. Just get it for now then save up for something a bit nicer in the summer/12 months time ____________________ Rusty '02 Vito Camper + CBR600F3 |
