No need to connect it to your bikes electrics or vacuum hoses and no need for batteries. Just good old English engineering.

Ive been using the manual one for a year or so and its been great and was under £20.
The auto one is £46 with all the fixings etc but i think its going to be worth it and still alot easier to fit than the scottoiler and cheaper too.
A lot less to go wrong with it too.

I'll post a review when i can afford to get one.

Erm, the point is that this one is "automatic" not "manual" - hence no spills.

Unless you were involved in the beta-testing of an item that only goes on sale today keep your unhelpful prejudgements to yourself. Ta.

Looking at it, Looks like it might have a weak spring that opens a valve with a weight so it opens when shaken, Really simple.

Sounds good.

Wonder if its less of a cunt to fill up than a scottoiler.

I have a normal tutoro on my ZX9r, for the sole reason the stubs for balancing the carbs are a spastic to get to, for a vacuum.

How much oil can you fit in it? Doesn't look like much unless the unit is huge.

I'll stick with scottoiler, with a BBQ sauce bottle oil capacity extender I can go several thousand miles between refills.

because a oiler means you can jump on your bike and do 300+ miles in a day on a warm day no worries and next to no fling like you get with chain lube / oil on a brush.

also just pull bike out of garage and not have to think fuck i need to lube the chain ...

From what I can tell:

A shaky thing on a spring at the top, when the bike moves the shaky thing moves about which opens an air vent in the oiler. This releasse the mild vaccum that is holding the oil in place, so the oil flows through a tube under the power of gravity until it goes out on to your chain.

I modified my manual one by making it extra long using 5mm aquarium tubing and araldite. Leave the back end open and only apply oil when required - job done. Oil is cheap anyway so I don't care if I forget to close the valve! 25k miles on my current chain and sprockets and still not a stiff link in sight!

When I was buying a bike for my commute I discounted the Hornet straight-off because I wanted to be able to do 2 round trips between fill-ups and the tank on the Hornet was about the size of a bottle of ketchup.

"Better" is subjective.

My experience with my scottoiler has put me right off them. It has been set up multiple times by myself, and also set up by other people. It would work for a while then just stop, and then my chain would be dry as fuck.

The scottoiler was way more messing about than just oiling the chain myself. Plus, I can oil both sides of the chain.

I've had a couple of scottoilers in the past and have also experienced them stop working for no apparent reason, this idea seems like it might work better as there is less to go wrong?
