Not a fan of racing style bikes so I just wanted peoples comparative opinions on the 2 above (maybe there's nothing in it between them both anyway?)...

I like the look of the TW's, but I'm 6' and I've heard that they're a small framed bike and don't suit tallish people?

I've heard the TW's are slow for a 125cc but as long as it will cruise at 50mph I'd be happy.

Spare parts a problem for either Question

There`s an article in this months copy of the magazine "Practicle Classic Mechanics" about the Van Van and that might help Thumbs Up

A similar bike which can be picked up for good money is the Hyosung RT125.

Had one in at work and although I didn't ride it ..I did assist in loading it onto a flatbed transporter for the customer

about all I can recall was it seemed to weigh a lot for 125 and wondering how well it pulls itself along - let alone before it has someone sat upon it

Seemed a LOT heavier than my old CG

Styling wasn't my bag and I would think they are pretty sloth like and poor handling machines in comparison to CG/YBR more conventional commuters
Possibly OK for just pottering around town on

Would be better off with a CG/YBR less funky looking device IMHO

can't imagine they return good fuel econnomy either in comparison - though could be just jumping to conclusions having never owened /lived with one

Although if you like the look , you like the look and handling / economy / practicallity may well come second to that ...I can relate to this is some ways

Regards
Rob

Did my CBT on a van van.

I was obviously a noob but I thought it was ace. Engine did what I asked of it, it looked cool, spacious enough (I'm 6ft), easy to ride slowly etc etc etc. Much preferred it to the SR125 I rode around about the same time.

Thanks chaps...that Hyosung looks quite interesting, but the TW still has it for me at the mo, I love how some of the japanese kids strip them:

I couldn't just get a commuter though, life's too short!

I've owned a Hyosung RT125 and currently own a Van Van, there is no contest really, the Van Van is much better, though the Hyosung is bigger (but not by much, it's just taller)
Parts for the Hyosung can be dodgy and expensive, the parts for a Van Van are easier to get. I find the Vanvan much more fun to ride than the Hyosung, and the oem tryes are better. The Hyosung had rubbish grip in the wet hehe
There is a dedicated Van Van owners club too but I forget the url offhand, just search for suzuki vanvan owners club..should come up. Plenty of VanVan advice there.

Can't really comment on the TW as never ridden one, but I like Yamaha bikes overall so it's probably on a par with the Vanvan.

A guy at my work has a Van Van, he says it's boring but reliable as anything. I know it's a bit of an overused saying but the general consensus is that they are "bulletproof".
