I have a quick question, I recently bought a project bike, the engine says GPz 750, it was sold to me as a GPz750, but when I looked on the log book it says ZX750-g2.... I'm dreading looking at the chassis number. It's a 1985 and looking at the pictures they look the same... are they?

ZX750 is right for a GPz750.

The engine has a different clutch arrangement to the earlier Z750 engines it shares a workshop manual with and squarer cam covers. Pop a picture up and I can tell if it's the right engine.

Hi

Think GPz is the marketing name while ZX750 is the actual model name.

All the best

Sounds about right. Another example is that ZX600 is used for both the ZZR600 and the ZX6R.

One of the two I owned. First one was a 1986 model, the one shown here was my 1989 model. Both were A3s
