A spare cx fork leg that is...

Not long ago i had my cx's for seals replaced, they were done properly by a mechanic my family have know for years (but i suspect his assistant may have done allot) they didn't notice this which is odd (hence my thinking his assistant did it) but the fork leg has a huge score mark where somebody has tryed to fish the seals out Evil or Very Mad

Which will now eat any seals thet go near it Sad

So now i have to find the old dear some new legs/a leg...

Why oh why do monkeys try to bodge jobs? it takes about 3minutes to get the leg off, the plastics only need to be loostened, it would have taken a few hours to do the entire thing but now i have to drive to nottingham to borrow a left hand fork leg (kindly lent by a guy in the cx/gl club, propper good) then start scavangeing the net for a newun
Found a pair from a breakers for £100, i could probably buy an entire front end for that, hell if i looked enough i buy a whole frickin cx for that!...

sigh... Confused

Forks from the trust old Superdream fit and do the job no problem.

I fitted a set to my old CX when we noticed that one of my fork legs was well bent.

Or just get the pair rechromed. Then you get a proper, thick, durable finish that will last for years, not the hideously thin coating the japanese manufacturers love to apply.

Robin - I thought they looked similar Razz which super dream has it do you know? afaik there were quite a few models made...

Robby - I didn't think they would be able to do anything with them, the score mark is... well imagine holding a flat blade screw driver to the fork, now hit the end of the screw driver hard with a hammer, i can't imagine what the hell they were doing to make such a mess of it... How much do you reckon a pair of legs will cost to have done?

Pete - i know they are about 3.5cm ish, i'll have a propper look in a bit, do you know what bike it came from?

I was considering sticking on a 650 front end.. anti dive, air assisted + fork brace... or Silverwing front end, just air assisted. If i'm going to be spending allot i might as well try and make a few minor improvements while i'm at it Razz
