Just curious as to what weird things people have or are experiencing in their dreams and if they think that they are related to anything in their lives or just completely random?

For example, I've noticed the last few times I've had a dream where I get into a fight that I can't for the life of me throw a proper punch. Its as if the punch itself starts fine but theres no energy behind it when I throw it, like I'm trying to punch through water?

I wondered if it was my subconscious trying to hint at something? Maybe I feel like theres something I cant do in life at the moment no matter how hard I try? Or that I'm trying to fight something but feel powerless? Despite the fact that I'm pretty well content at the moment.

Scientific head on, I then thought maybe its something to do with the actual body in sleep and how obviously my arms in real life aren't moving and the brain is registering the lack of movement of my arms in real life compared to the power it associates with a normal punch?

Then I thought maybe its a just a load of bollocks and when I dream I turn into a complete pussy that cant swing for shit. Who knows.

BCF, discuss!!

My recent sleep talking incidents:

Sitting bolt upright, the GF asks me what I'm doing and I reply "Ssssssssssshh, I'm going to murder someone".

The other night again, bolt upright, GF asks what I'm doing, I reply "I'm looking for my axe", "Your hat?" she asks, "No my axe!"

So I think I am going to be an axe muderer, which is nice.

It is quite common to dream about things you are concerned about.

Amidst my usual violent and destructive dreams my recent "concern type" dreams have involved the gf having a baby, crashing my bike, becoming bankrupt etc etc etc. I don't read too much into the dream meanings and reading between the lines bullshit though.

As for my usual dreams, often rather apocalyptic in nature, only I like being the only one left. Either that or killing people, stealing things, the occasional rape, driving cars/bikes fast, teleportation, bombing etc. When I get lucid dreams I tend to steer them towards the apocalypse and killing.

I've had dreams where I'm trying to throw punches but have no energy too. Maybe it's down to your hands being pinned by the blankets?

Another one is trying to scream but no voice. Have woken up croaking away lol

Keep getting that feeling of suddenly feeling like you're falling over, or lost balance in bed.

But it's not that, now it's been replaced with the feeling you get when you have an 'oh sh!t' moment almost dropping your bike when moving/sitting on it.

I have peculiar dreams at times the most bizarre one was when I dreamed I was a pot of blue paint and I was trying to convince everybody around me they were too but it wasn't working. I haven't got a clue what that was about.

I've often had dreams where I've woken up still dreaming; they're odd!

I clearly remember this one.
A few months ago, I was dreaming. I was outside on the road at noon. Then I knew this was a dream, not real one.
(I wasn't 100% sure but was 90% sure about that)
Then I found a woman on the road.
Then I remembered this feeling that I dreamed this one in the past. I usually don't do anything interesting in the dream because I'm still worrying that this may be real one.
But at that time I wanted to do something interesting, I bet this is a dream, I thought I can do anything I want to.....What should I do...???

So I walked to her and I rub the breast of the girl on the street at noon Shocked .
I said "I think this is a dream so I can do anything".
She looked a little bit confused but poor response.
I was enjoying the touch of her breasts.
I was not 100% sure this was a dream, and was worrying I may be arrested if this was not a dream in the dream, and it was very rare dream of mine.

OMG I may be a pervert.

@kawashima... it was a lucid dream, you realised you were dreaming and therefore can control what happens. They don't happen often like that, if at all, unless you seriously train your brain to do it on queue.

I dream about things in the past that have made an impact on my life. They're usually themed around the same things. If I'm not dreaming of an event that has had an impact, I dream about things that worry me, like having my bike stolen.

My dreams are always extremely real and often wake up thinking did that actually happen?

Had some weird shit happen to me about a month ago. In my dream I was watching fight club in bed with my headphones on, then suddenly one of the scenes was different. I've seen the movie like 8 times so I knew for sure that something wasn't right. All of a sudden I started tripping out, and I was snapping back and forth between consciousness in my dream.
Suddenly I woke up in real life, but not fully awake. More like that limbo between reality and dreams. Before I knew it I was back in the same dream, again going between the trippy state and the normal one.
Essentially I was bouncing between 3 planes of consciousness, was pretty mad Shocked

And about the punches with no power, I've had that many many times, trying to beat the living shit out of somebody and nothing is happening to their face!!! So frustrating Evil or Very Mad

Hi

I can't remember dreams very often (assuming I have had dreams even when I can't remember them), and even when I can remember them when I wake up I forget them pretty quickly.

Do remember falling from a great height on a fair few occasions and hitting the ground. Which is a nice feeling Confused .

As to something like throwing a punch and having no power behind it, never had that but nothing I do in a dream ever seems to work as it should (just like your punches).

All the best

Keith

I often have dreams where I am trying to run away from someone but I just can't seem to run fast and it feels like my feet are made out of lead. Just as they are about to catch up with me I wake up Confused

Makes me feel really weird

They say all the people in your dreams you have seen at some point in your life, whether it be in person or on TV. Don't know how true that is but it makes sense.

I had a dream a while back where I saw the most beautiful woman and I remember waking up and thinking who was she? I don't recall seeing her face anywhere but the image stuck in my head for several days, it was bizzare.

My problem is that I remember every dream I have, every single night. The longer I wait to go to bed, the wierder my dreams get. For example, if I'm pretty tired at 2am but stay up until 5am, guaranteed my dream is going to be fucked up.

I've had some horrible dreams, including things like:

Having my teeth smashed into pieces with a hammer
Being stabbed multiple times
Killing people
Having playing darts thrown at me
Shooting people
Raping people
Being injected with heroin
Loved ones dying
Being abducted by aliens

I think I can conclude that my mind is a pretty fucked up place Laughing

I used to get this regularly but recently I've started taking a glass of water to bed and it's gone. I think I've been dehydrated at night and getting cramp in my jaw or neck other than that I've no idea!

I have a clear conscience therefore I sleep like a baby and never remember my dreams.
Dreams, they say, happen at only certain levels of sleep and the ones remembered are from the level of sleep only seconds before you awaken. (Not necessarily to get up for work/college.)
But we all dream.

Awe shite... I feel sleepy now.

Lucid dreams are something I can get get as often as real dreams, but I rarely dream.

Last one was a good example, I recall 1 dream within the last month or so, I was passengber in a car coming up to a junction (layerthorpe in York from Sainsburys) and Police had blocked our side of the road, this meant using the other lane to get passed. As the car got to the junction I wanted to stop, so i kinda skipped off my bike, balancing on one side (not the car I started the dream in) and slowly went past only to almost stop right on the junction while noticing the reason was because some lad I vaguely recognised had been decapitated and the top/front part of his head just lay there on display.

The Police were stopping people rubber necking but I stopped, got my way past him, decided I was getting a closer look so approache the tape.... then i woke up.

Wierd stuff.

one that I can clearly remember from my childhood was being chased by a JCB around the housing estate. I would hide and then it would find me so I would run again. My legs would subsequently turn to lead and then I woke up.

I had a very nervous disposition around any JCB's or diggers for a few years after that, thats how much it scared me.

I once had a dream about being chased by a tank and I actually felt my heart stop! I never woke up, but it was a really weird experience that I never hope to have again.

Perhaps the most depressing dream I ever had was when I had one the lottery, I was buying everything I had ever dreamed of. The depressing part was when I woke up right in the middle of the dream and I was depressed for a couple of days, lol!

The worst dream I ever had was one of those ones that were so realistic that it screws your whole day up. I'll put my dream in quotes just to differentiate for the readers.

pinkysleep wrote:

And my alarm goes off! I reach out and turn my alarm off, I sit up and then swing my legs out of bed. I then stand up and get dressed and go to work. People remarked on how knackered I looked, I just replied "I had to get up twice this morning" It really threw my day out of balance. Weirdest dream I have ever had.
