Going from Bike to Car

Im interested to know what happens to people when they get off the bike then jump in the car?

Do you always want to rev the car like the bike i.e to 14,00rpm, but somehow it doesn't then you end up hiting the limiter on the car

I don't rev the car but I do have to remind myself sometimes that I can't filter at traffic lights!!

Well the few times I've driven a car I never really think of revving it, cos I'm too busy trying to remember its 5 foot wider than what I'm used too!

One thing that has been pointed out to me from going from a bike to a car is that I am more observant and notice whats going on around me more than i used to before riding a bike

In the golf I was always on the limiter, because it was a 1.3. In the escort I used to bounce off it in 1st and second for fun.

Merc will stroke the redline when I use the kickdown, but normal driving it rarely gets above 3000 rpm.

Only trouble with riding a big bike for a bit is that I get in the Maserati and think that there is something wrong as it feels slow .

Yes I do rev car engines quite hard. Once reason why I tend to stick with revvy engined cars and avoid diesels like the plague.

I've nearly nodded while in the car on many an occasion.

Lifesavers in the car? damn right I do, in fact I remember one occasion where I probably would of side swiped a biker while joining a queueing motorway had it not been for the lifesaver.

I've got a Fiesta 1.1 and a Hyosung GT Comet 125, and I swop back and forth all the time. The bike is a lot more fun, but the car is more practical. Whenever anyone needs a lift anywhere obversely I can't use the bike. But for everything else I use the Comet.

As for thrashing the car no not really, I just stick to the speed limit.

Ive got a small car, a small 4 stroke bike and a big 2 stroke bike which i swap betwean constantly.
The only thing i do differently is that when i get in a car after going on the bike, it feels like the car is on rails and will take any corner at any speed, so i normally end up thrashing the hell out of it round bends

I also occasionally fuck up road position. such as riding too far to the right on a bike, or too far to the left in the car

Although I don't drive on the roads yet (hoping to before next summer) I have a mk3 Fiesta I use for tearing about a nearby farm, so I generally rev it out as you need to to make a 1.1 go anywhere remotely fast.

I find myself looking over my left shoulder at the rear seats a lot when I am turning left. People in the back think I'm mad.

I generally don't rag it everywhere though, no.

My Civic redlines at 8200rpm, I don't get there very often as 99% of the driving I do have my wife and 9 month old daughter in the car too.
I take risks with my own life occasionaly but try not to put theirs in danger by driving closer to the edge of the rubber if you know what I mean.

I go from car to bike and bike to car. I know my car is a 1.0L and doesnt go so fast, so I pop in the stereo and set off in plenty of time to allow for traffic etc. And I sit in the traffic, dont get het up or frustrated cos I know I have the choice. I generally choose the car when its minging weather outside - the M3 to work and back is no fun in the nasty weather!!!
