The thread about red-lining made me think about a bikes powerband and where the red line is..
So I'm asking... what bike(s) do you have, and where is the red line, and what range is the powerband at?
I'll start - I have a 2001 4 stroke GN125, Redlines at 10k, Powerband 5 - 7.5k.
Craig
I really hope I've used the right terminology referencing the powerband... or I'll look like one of Stes ebay customers! ____________________ If this signature is blue, you're riding too fast |

No need to redline the R6 as the power tails off just before it.
Just change up at 14,500RPM,nice ____________________ Nothing gets the point across quite like a raised middle digit.

GSXR400R - Redlines at 15,000rpm. Power kicks in around 8k right to the redline. It lacks power below 4 really. I tend to ride around town at 4750rpm as that's where the exhaust sounds nicest for some reason. Also happens to be 30mph precisely in 3rd gear. ____________________ Honda NSR125R -> Suzuki GSXR400R GK76a -> Kawasaki ZX636 B1H -> Honda CBR400RR NC29 -> Nothing |

I wonder where the power lies in a Honda CBR250 - 19,000 rpm redline anyone??
My RS125 - redline @ 11,000 rpm, powerband - dead below 5k, a bit of go between 5-6k, then it starts to shoot. Apparently there's a huge leap at 8k, but being on the right side of the law, I don't know just yet. ____________________ "... Is the dyno output from mine, it redlines at 11.5k, max's out at 13.5k
As you can see from the dyno the powerband comes allmost in 2 stages with a noticeable lul in power in the middle. Peak power is produced at 10.5k with a sharp drop off in power before red line. hence there is absolutly no point in redlining my bike |

VFR Picks up power from about 6K onwards. I think peak is at about 12k.
I like the sound though, so usually It goes all the way to 14.5K. ____________________ TT600 neeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeowwww! |
