I've tonight had someone purchase a 2000w amp i've had for sale on amazon.
As always with something worth more than a few quid i've done a bit of a hunt and the buyer is not on the electoral register and the address is sheltered housing in between Lambeth and Brixton, London.

I'm just thinking of cancelling the sale as I can see this turning to shit and me losing £180 i can't afford to be losing.

So, send it or keep it?

I tend to get a contact number and have a chat with them before I commit to buy or sell something of that type of value.

But as you say they have already started to fail the basic checks.

If you want to sell badly then have a chat with them if you can hold out and maybe even sell for a little bit less then that is probably what I would do.

Just bought some leathers for £170 tonight outside ebay purely going on the fact I could see the guy had a nice house a yacht and sounded ok on the phone. I might get stung one of these days but I regard myself as a gambling man!

I was stung for 90 quid on zzr international when a regular member ripped me off. He stopped posting after that. He possibly made another account.

basing an opinion of a seller by google street viewing their house... Shifty

I've done that before though. Completely prejudice as where they live means diddly squat as to how honest they are, won't stop me doing it in future though

Probably paid with a credit card, It would be sent with signed for courier or I could deliver in person next few days but as it's amazon if he decides there is a scratch on it he could put in a claim and after a week or so they'll cough back the money without even telling him to send it back

I would offer to do COD and if they say yeah thats fine then it is, but if an excuse is given that COD is not an option then thats fine to,no loss of sale because it wouldn't have happened anyway.

I've bought all sorts of crap from all over the place and been to some pretty dodgy places. I do wonder sometimes when entering some estates if I should be there alone with cash in my pocket but nothing bad's happened........... yet.

I had a mate sell his genarator through some classifieds. He got a call from someone in Peterborough and when he got there it was a travellers site, (this is where I might have had second thoughts), he ended up getting stoned off the site by a load of kids and they kept his generator and van Shocked He got the van back later minus the wheels.

Yeah..............take a BIG fuck off dog, get tooled up....or borrow a couple of mates and don't tell them where you're all going. Wink

I rather foolishly went and bought a £200 complete axle from a scrapyard off ebay, paid cash and collected it one evening when it was dark. Went on my own as well.

Completely numpty thing to do, was only after everything went smoothly and I was driving back I thought, what if there'd been several of them and they decided they'd rather have the money without giving me the beam, and take my car whilst they're at it.

Now if I'm going somewhere like that or somewhere at night I'll always take a mate along for the ride with the offer of a mcdonalds or something

I've cancelled the sale. Seems I have no stock Whistle

No refund due as amazon don't charge the card until I mark it as sent so even waiting a few days to see if the card payment is revoked isn't an option.
