So about 2 weeks ago I caved and decided to go for my bike theory, I didn't think it'd be too hard as I passed my Car Theory test on my second try.

I did loads of revision last night (not enough, it seems) and just got to the test centre in time this morning at 9am. I answered the questions as best I could and breezed through the Hazard Perception.

I failed.. By one mark. Which annoyingly was the same case with my first attempt at my Car Theory test..

Here's one of the questions I had.

What can you do to reduce screen glare?

A. Turn on your air conditioning.
B. Turn on your dipped beams.
C. Wipe your windshield.
D. Turn on your rear windshield heater.

Why is a question like this on the Bike Theory test? I'm aware that the DVLA are making the test harder soon which is a kick in the balls because I won't be able to book another one before it is imposed - and I wasted £30.

Surely instead of giving you more questions to answer, they should make the existing amount of questions more appropriate. That makes much more sense.

Has anyone else had an similar experience?

Eh, there's questions in there about CPR and the environmental benefit of trams. If you have a grievance, take it to the DSA or DfT, there's no point in looking for sense in the theory test.

Bizarre question for a motorcycle test. Doesn't seem fair or relevent. Is it one you got wrong? If so I'd be tempted to write to dvla and complain about it. You might get a free retest or something.

p.s: I'd have put C. Is that right?

Yes. I'm pretty sure it was Rolling Eyes it was one of the first questions I came to so it may have been different. Definitely "wind" something though and not visor.

I put C also but they don't tell you what questions you got wrong. Only the category the question comes under (rules of the road, attitude, safety margins etc).

The really annoying thing is that it took me 20 or so minutes to answer the questions and then about half an hour to do the Hazard Perception. So I wasted 30 minutes doing the part of the test I actually passed even though I had already failed!
