morning all, just bought my self a bike a cg125e from 1984

i've been threatening my self about buying a bike for ages so decided to just jump in.

the CG i bought is a "do-a-upper" as it looks to have been left in a field for most of its life.

just bought a Haynes manual so i will be stripping the old girl to see if its OK etc

Shouldnt have it too hard - i bought a C90 for the other half a while back. Stripped, cleaned everything resprayed and rebuilt it...The only thing i'd say to watch out for is the wiring loom - everything else is self explanatory!

If you think for any reason "wow that looks complicated" take a pic on your phone or whatever before you pull it apart...took me a few hours to re assemble the C90, a day and five wiring diagrams to figure out what plugs went where...seems the designer had never heard of a multi plug. everything was single bullet connectors

I need to send off for the V5 before i start getting my hands dirty, i have messed around with car engines beofre but never a bike.

I have bought the Haynes workshop (book of lies) manual to help me take it to bits

i will keep you posted
