Once you're 17 you can ride any bike which is less than 125cc and not more than 14.8bhp. It can be geared if you want, there is just one CBT and it doesn't distinguish between geared and not geared. When you do your A2 bike test (restricted access) you can get any bike as long as it is restricted to less than 33bhp regardless of the cc, this is possible on nearly any bike but have a look on the FI International for the complete list of what bikes can be restricted. You can legally remove the restrictors and ride any bike of any power after two years from when you passed your test.

When you're 17 you can do your A2 licence which entitles you to ride ANY bike as long as you have it restricted to 33 BHP, not all bikes take the restriction to well, especially large CC bikes so it limits your choice a little, after 2 years this restriction is lifted and you can ride a bike of any CC with any BHP, at 21 years old, you can do a direct access course which involves having a test on a more powerful bike, this is enables you to ride any bike, but like I said, you have to be 21.

Yep. Was brilliant. They also tried to get someone to push them back up the hill again.

You can't feel as bad as the guy I saw the other weekend on his 2004 fireblade getting comprehensivley raped by my mate on his Harris (everything) GSXR1100 about two minutes after passing the gixer stopped at the side of the road for a tab break. Mr. Green

I was ahead of both of them, this Honda shaped blur went past and about a second later a much faster Harris shaped blur also went past round the outside of it...I was doing about 115 round a sweeping left hander at the time. Witness reports state that but for the absence of a Guiness observer, the world stubbing out of cigarette and donning of helmet record would have been comprehensivley smashed as the 'blade went by.
