So I am on a 125 bike on a CBT and I think it's about time I passed my test and I want a new bike. I was going to just buy another 125 but there even more expensive than some of the other bigger bikes ive been looking at.

So what exactly do I need to do and how much will everything cost.

I am 21.

Thanks Very Happy

I doubt it'll cost much more to upgrade than it's costing you now. Insurance should actually cost less even on a bigger bike once you have passed.

As well as providing you wth all the information on a plate, would you like me to come and do the tests for you as well?

A good place to start is Google.

People might be more williing to help if you've tried to do some of the leg-work yourself instead of hopng someone will do it for you.

Any specific problems I'm sure you'll get plenty of help.

Book theory, mod1 and mod 2. £121.50 if you pass first time, 33hp limit on any cc bike after that for 2 years.

125 bikes cost much more than bigger CC bikes, in relation to what you are actually paying for.

There are countless bikes you can get for sub £1k, but getting a decent 125 for less than £1k is a lot harder.

DAS, as soon as you can, but you'll probably need to fork out for a training course (so that you get use of a bike).

Alternatively if you don't mind a 2 year restriction then do as Paddy says using your own bike, for £121.50 (no lessons).

And you can book everything yourself online, there's no need to get a training school involved if you're going for the 'standard' test on your own 125.
