Poor guy, hope he is OK, looks like I'll be missing him at the Excel and at brands.

I feel sorry for him because he's at that stage of going from skint to put everything in to the point of starting to get some money back out of it.

He seems like a nice bloke and I was really looking forward to seeing him in BSB, I reckon he'd have been quite a force.

I'm hoping he can recover and still keep his ride though, he's a fighter so hopefully he'll be back on it soon, can't be nice for him personally though.

I recently found out that BTCC drivers aren't paid but on the contrary have to pay for there drive, figures of £20,000-£40,000 per race were mentioned! Is this the same for BSB? I always compared BTCC and WTCC to WSB and BSB.

I suspect the top in BTCC get free rides?
Or at least get enough personal sponsorship money coming in to cover the costs they may have.

Most of BSB are fairly small teams doing it off their own back.
I'd have thought again the very top people would be getting a 'free ride'.

In the end, BSB is an excellent spring board to bigger things and a lot of very talented people want to be at the sharp end of it.

In the year I started racing, one of the people in my class had their family re-mortgage their house to the tune of £300k to fund their first three year's racing career.
Not sure if they got far enough to make any decent money back.

Should get a titanium leg, may as well nip it in the bud! Was he planning to ride in the TT as well? Never know with injuries, can turn out to be worse than originally thought.

Now been confirmed that he will be out for at least 3 months. Swan Yamaha will bring in a replacement until he is fit enough. They are still hopefull that he will make the TT though

Looking at that picture he was asking for it surely? He's in a state and that looks nowhere near healed, someone should be pointing this out to him. It's irresponsible.

Surely he was insured against this kind of thing, I'd of thought he'd be heavily compensated when the accident originally occurred.

Swan Yamaha adapted the bike for him. They put the gear change on the right hand side and added a thumb brake for the rear

He raced at Macau in his first race back from the injury and still finished 3rd Cool

Apparently the fracture is nowhere near the original break... sounds like a rather nasty spiral fracture Sad

Hope it's nowhere near as bad as the last break though, they wanted to amputate his leg originally didn't they?
