Looking to upgrade my standard exhaust on my Honda NSR 125, to a sports exhaust.

What else do I need to consider when upgrading?

I'm only 18 so doing my test and getting a big bike isn't an option Sad

Thanks in advance!

A bigger bike (not a big bike)?

Something like a restricted GPz500/ER-5, CB500 or GS500 would all not cost that much more to insure (if anything) than your pocket-rocket 125, and probably be better on fuel too.

You could look to tweak the NSR, but you'd lose resale value and it won't make it *that* much faster... and of course if you tweak it, you'd have to tell your insurance which will then go sky high...

But then, I'm an old fart.

What's I'm trying to say, is that you'd be better off leaving it as is, for the small gains you would get. Better off spending the cash on your licence.

Because the only option I'd have is to get a restricted bike which I can't be bothered with, I love this bike, just want it to be a little quicker Smile

A restricted bike will murder your NSR and be cheaper to insure.

So I've come to the conclusion you just cant be bothered Laughing

Hi

Probably easiest to just remove the restrictor in your current standar exhaust (just at the front, be prepared to wear out a few drills).

Also there is a restrictor in the intake.

May also be a dodgy cdi unit in there depending on the market.

All the best

Keith
