Still, really horrible. I actually would not watch this again ever.

When he says "breathe for me" at the end, I feel sick.

Poor bastard. If that was me I'd have rather died. I couldn't live completely paralyzed. Sad

Agreed. Death is much preferred over paralysis.

There was nothing graphic in the video, just makes you think. Falls for around 30 seconds, trying to sort out his ball of nylon and then thump. All you can is grass and people around him telling him to lye still.

"Can you feel your legs?"

"No."

Fcuk me he did well to stay calm going down. Karma

Its old news. Its been doing the rounds on DZ.com

It's exactly what Redoko says it is.

TBH after about 20 jumps the 'excitement' wears off completely and you don't even get a dry mouth and thumping heart anymore.

And when you do get involved in a mal, time REALLY does slow down from your perspective there is simply no time to panic and crap yourself, you've got to get out of the mess.

I presume that is his reserve that he's having issues with?

Also, I presume he doesn't do the parachute landing fall position? Could that have helped some in this case?

He tangles in his friends chute, his friend cuts himself free.

The main guy releases his reserve whilst still tangled up in other chute and it becomes entangled. The reserve is that blue ball of material caught up in the lines. Which is why he is saying "oh shit" a lot.

I wonder at what speed he landed.

It was a CReW jump, Canopy relative work.

They got into trouble. Guy on top chopped his main, guy on the bottom chopped and opened his reserve and got it tangled in the main of the guy who he was CReWing with.

There was a lot of debate about how they should have shouted to each other as to what they would do and dirt dived as to what they should have done before going up. Or that he should have waited a few seconds after chopping. Which is primarily why I do not like RSL and skyhooks or AAD for that matter.

The other suggestion from somebody else a DZO was that he could have climbed the lines. Which some have poo poo'd as lines are both thin and its actually quite a long way to climb. But entirely possible. As with CH2 canopy handling you are taught to use the risers to perform maneoveuers instead of the toggles. And quite often people pulling down on the rises tend to pull themselves up instead.

PLF would have done nothing as he was spinning pretty quickly even in a legs down position.

Looked to me like he was trying to 'climb' the lines (pull the shit down).
