I work with people that get excited about getting lunch from Gregg's, why get worked up about a bland 1950s style tasteless sanga on limp white bread? If they were going to Pret maybe but not gregg's.

But if you get in before 1ish (before it's stale) they do an awesome selection of doughnuts. Drooling

Low expectations maybe? Or the fact that such things contain so many nasty chemicals in them that they have developed a dependency on it....

Actually a more realistic idea is that junk food is kind of addictive for some reason. So yes much like Pret maybe very good sometimes you like something filfthy like a Doner Kebab or something.

Much like sex with a decent girlie (or guy whatever floats your boat) may well be a very good thing. But sometimes you want some gutter tramp in the sack that offers Anal then A2M without any asking and will gobble up your spaff like its nectar or somthing........

I agree, the only time I eat it is when it's rude not to. eg my birthday and other peoples birthday, weddings etc.

Don't get me wrong, stick anything on a plate and I'll eat it, but I would choose other things over cake.

There is only one word you need to know at Greggs:

And that word is "Steakbake"

I haven't eaten my own cake at my birthdays since I can remember.

Hate the stuff.

Not a massive fan of Greggs, but chickenbakes are sooo good. Much prefer Beefsteak pies and meat pies from Greenhalges. Dont know if you get them down south as its a Bolton company and mainly shops in the Northwest.

I think Greggs is alright, steakbakes and pasties are ok, Pink Jammie Doughnuts are nice though.

For meat/pastry based products I've tasted the best and nothing comes close and I've tried Forfar Bridies too. I give you the Killie Pie Very Happy

I quite like the mince pies and cheese & bacon wraps. Everything else is a bit naff though, the sausage rolls are crap, 50% grease I reckon.

When I first 'discovered' greggs some years ago when it was Northern-only, I was quite excited as my lunch budget on expenses went a decent way further than something like Pret would carry it.

These days, less enthused.

Around me we have 'Wilds Bakery' which is a cheaper Greggs; quality is a bit worse, but prices are considerably cheaper - 2 pies or pasties (and a few other things) for a pound.

The Greggs by my old office in central Croydon had to employ a security guard to try and reduce the level of thefts when the yoofs came out of nearby Croydon college.

Maybe their shit fodder tastes better when it is stolen? <shrugs>

Sounds extraneous - the local ones usually have a copmobile abandoned on the double yellows outside while they buy a jumbo bag of sausage rolls and bridies.

The food in Gregg's always looks colorful and well presented but it's all cheap greasy crap.

Rip off scumbags !!

Go back 18 months - 2 years and their basic pasty was around 35p.
Then it started going up by 10p and then 20p and it's now something like £1.05

Well over 200% rise in a couple of years but no one seems to remember.

Have you not noticed the government printing money forcing the price of input ingredients up?
