More bros 400 registration issues..

I thought my bros was a 1989 bike and i was told it is, just checked v5 it says first registration 1999 but on part 10 of the v5 (new keeper details ) it says
Date of first registration 19 03 1999 (decl/d manuf 1989)

So what year is is :S

from what i can tell it was made in 1989 but registerd in the uk in 1999 10 years after it was made so is it still a 1989 or 1999?

It's obviously an import, registered in the UK in 1999.

The V5 says it was first manufactured in 1989, so it's a 1989.

My Supra says 2004 on logbook and is a 1994.

GS500 also said it was a 2000 model and it was a 1993

My xl is obviously an '79 (12digit VIN) and yet registered 1992.

When people want to know "What year is it?", they typically don't give a damn what the DVLA plate suggests, they're interested in the year of manufacture.

Most Bros 400cc were grey imports, mine was...I chose it as it arrived on the crate to Boxhill Motorcycles all those years ago (I had a lot to choose from). You can tell the year from the letter on the numberplate/V5 document.
