Hi All,

Just finished [enjoying] watching TT3D...I noted the different race categories:

Superbike TT

Senior TT

Supersport Junior TT Race 1

Supersport Junior TT Race 2

TT Zero.

What does each category stand for/represent? I became confused when I noticed that racers/winners from other categories competed in all 5. I consulted the TT race website, but failed to find an explanation section.

Thanks Thumbs Up

My guess is...

Superbike = Bikes similar to BSB and WSBK
Senior = Older dudes??
Supersport = 600cc
Zero = Electric bikes

Race 1 and Race 2 just means there are 2 rounds (races)

The TT Zero bikes are slow compared to the IC engined bikes but they're getting quicker every year. First run as the TTXGP in 2009 the lap speed was 87.434mph, in 2010 it was 96.820 and last year Michael Rutter narrowly missed the first 100mph lap on an electric bike at 99.604mph.

The Guy Martin TT documentary is well worth watching 'Closer to the Edge.'
Its funny how with all the talk of risk involved with the TT in the documentary both the main riders they're following end up in hospital after crashes!
