*Juggle Chainsaws (whilst on fire possibly)

*Roll up a pedigree puppy of some breed and smoke it like it is a fine cigar (dead or alive matters not)

*Hit a great white shark with an amputee midgets prosthetic leg

*Finally get served a whole pint of Jack Daniels (no pub has yet served me this grrrrr in all my years of asking Evil or Very Mad ) and consume in one

*Find out if everything does actually taste like chicken

There you go Thumbs Up

Why is it always so comfortable for the insecure to sneer at those who are actually happy with their life?

Those who know what is important, rarely have a list.

1. Everybody says this, it isn't fashionable to say you don't wish to travel. You have no idea where, or more importantly, why.
2. You will change the lives of the people in your life who really matter without having to think about it, to an extent they will never fully tell you about. Though chasing to change the lives of the people who don't, you will likely neglect the people who do.
3. Abroad you will find the same problems in retirement as you might find here, and isn't planning for retirement equal to accepting that your life is already over?
4. You can climb a big ass mountain tomorrow, and the answers aren't at the top.
5. To what end? Nobody will care, and more money doesn't equal fewer problems, ever.

Yup, I'd do yours. Dance!

Other than that, I'm pretty happy with my life each day, I'm not feeling any particular urges to knock it up a notch. https://board.heartagram.com/public/style_emoticons/default/happydance.gif

1. My bucket list is for the benefit of ME and ME only. I want to travel, not because it is fashionable but because there is so much more out there and I want to see it!

2. When I retire abroad, I want to be around 35, get a part time job that pays my bills and then spend the rest of my days on a beach sunning it up. Whats wrong with that?

3. I want to actually change someones life for the better. It doesnt count opening the door for someone or throwing your loose change to a homeless guy in the street.

4. Climbing a mountain is not about finding answers, in fact what fucking questions? I dont have any!! I want to climb a mountain as a personal achievement.

5. Being qualified in something clever is not about money, it is again personal achievement.

Maybe you should look at your own existence before slating mine, you clearly have no gain in your life or you wouldnt be taking time to pick holes in mine!

Yes happiness is a choice - and I CHOOSE to be happy doing what I want to do.

Oh and last time I checked ambition is the desire for personal achievement. Maybe you should grab a dictionary and read it sometime during your non thought out, non cliche life Wink

Peace out.

Apart from the obvious. Nothing at all, apart from the fact it won't happen, not in the slightest, but I guess it's healthy to have a pipe dream.

As I mentioned - and as you seem to have ignored - the peoples lives who you change, are the people who you least expect to change. It doesn't take conscious effort. If you go out of your way to help those "less fortunate" or whatever the hell you are thinking about, you will find you make next to no diffference at all.

.

Just as vacuous as you sound then? Everyone has questions, and if you don't have any, then I envy you. Like I said, could climb a mountain tomorrow, and it wouldn't make any difference, change a thing, or answer anything. Aim high sister.

Peer pressure much? Again you haven't a clue what, or why.

Quote:

It takes no time at all believe me, and I am more than happy with my own existence, it isn't about personal gain for me. Which is why I feel happy to offer my opinion on yours. You can take it or leave it.

Ambition? Yes, we can all google that. Still a bullshit word. Let's see what it says...

Quote:
Ambitious people are characterised by their strong desire for attainment, power, or superiority. Ambition can also be defined as the object/subject of this endeavour.

Throughout history, examples can be found of people who were extremely ambitious, for better and for worse. The notorious Greek Herostratus had the ambition to become famous by destroying the Temple of Artemis.

The Irish poet Oscar Wilde said that "Ambition is the last refuge of failure."

Oscar Wilde was perhaps a wise man.

You feel that by having a bullshit materialistic list, somehow on your deathbed it will leave you little to regret. How little you know.

A good article in the telegraph recently about deathbed regrets, maybe you should take a look:

https://www.telegraph.co.uk/health/healthnews/9049120/Losing-touch-with-friends-most-common-deathbed-regret.html

See any of your bucket list there? Nope, not a one. Learn what really matters, before it's too late. Karma

Who said I was secure?

And this thread was supposed to be half hearted, not set in stone.

A bucket list is things you WANT to do before you die, doesnt mean you will end up doing them. Rolling Eyes

I read that article, which is what got me thinking in the first place. And maybe you should go back and re read the top most common regret people have on their deathbeds!

That is what I am doing with my life.

Now go forth and continue to be an arsehole!!

Peace out.

1. Try LSD.
2. Make an album in a classical rock style.
3. Write a novel.
4. Run a marathon.
5. Become self sufficient.

I'm not going to whine on my deathbed if I don't tick any of those off, I'm quite happy with good friends, a warm place to sleep and food in my belly - anything else is just gravy.

How does having ambition, desire and enthusiasm for life make one insecure?

I did a bucket list a few years ago and forgot about it. I found it again recently and it turns out I've now done quite a few things on it, including diving with sharks and flying transatlantic 1st class. Doing a car trackday was on it too; the missus got me one of those drive-a-Ferrari experiences for Xmas so that'll get ticked off this year.

Anselmo, you obviously don't like Mondays. Maybe "new job" should be on yours.
