Well, people have been moaning that I havnt updated my old thread re. my test, or given any details, so here it is Smile

Was even more nervous going into the test than I said I was earlier this morning, thanks to a little mishap. After riding brilliantly (if I do say so myself) for 3.5 days, half an hour before my test I managed to chalk up something that would failed me for sure.

Coming up to mini roundabout, slowing down to stop, see a 4x4 on the opposite side, but no indication and heading straight on. I pull out turning left, she decides to change course, aims for the same exit as me and puts on the indicator AFTER she starts to turn. Now, I should have played it safe anyway, esp as I am practising for a test, but I was pretty pissed off with her honking her horn at me after HER little antics!

Anyway, after I calmed down a bit, and finally got to the test centre, I was feeling a little frazzled but knew I was good enough to pass. Met the examiner, seemed like a nice enough old chap, passed the (easy) questions at the start - kill switch and engine oil checks, and then hopped on the bike.

It was the Pinner test centre, so some nice wide quiet roads, where the only real problem is parked cars.

Emergency stop was no problem, obviously walking the bike round wasn't, and the U turn was one of the best I have ever done - all that practice on narrow roads had paid off!
After that, another 10 minutes of riding around, basically chilling. I was finding it a lot easier than riding with another student and the instructor, as there was no need to think of anybody but me regarding positioning, progress, turning etc. I know it's a cliche, but I was really starting to enjoy it.
My one minor fault was in the Balance section, for putting my foot down too early as I pulled up - the car in front started moving as I was stopping, so I sorta dragged the foot like I sometimes do on the scooter. I know it's bad practise, and I know it's a problem with me, so I was glad it was the only thing he picked up on, He made a point of saying that it wasnt a big deal anyway, just needs some polishing up.

Having spoken to the instructors, apparantly it was about 20 minutes from when I left the office, rather than 15, but it seemed like 5!

Thanks to everyone who wished me luck, it obviously worked a blinder!

Just ridden the new beastie back from the shop, it's an absolute delight, so smooth and tasty! Cant wait to go out for a ride tomorrow - I have to hide it today because my mum is dropping round some expensive PC bits I had delivered to theirs, and I sure as heck dont want her to realise how much I've spent, and on WHAT!

Heres the little git, apologies for poor quality pics, it's been a long day and I cant be arsed to get it into a 'wikkid pose', ya get me?

EDIT - apologies for the atrocious english in this post as well, as you can probably guess I'm fairly buzzing today, normal service will resume in a day or two!

Just lucky mate, I was expecting at least 5 Very Happy

The old advice of just relaxing and taking it easy really paid off!

EDIT - the other chap from my course passed with 3 minors, so kudos to our instructors, ADS of Harrow, they were great, and we had fun too Smile

Nice one. Thumbs Up

Nice bike, seems to be a good few passes at the moment.

If anyone's thinking of riding this time of year I can recommend a Fog City visor insert. Used mine properly this morning in this delightful weather and it was spot on. No fogging at all and it's got a yellowy hue that helps with the poor light. Thumbs Up again.

Hey, isn't strange how bikes always look better on their sidestand than on the centrestand? Like they're designed to viewed cranked over abit rather than upright.
