I was going to buy an engine lift but thought i properly wouldn't use it that often

Need to change the engine in my Astra van and was wondering if anyone has one a could borrow for a day or two? Very Happy

Hi

Err, might be an idea to say roughly the kind of area. They are rather big and heavy things to move around

All the best

Keith

You can normally hire them for quite affordable prices.

Alternatively, how possible is it for you to drop the engine out of the bottom? I've done this a few times?

I seen this advertised in Lidl this week:

https://www.lidl.co.uk/cps/rde/xchg/lidl_uk/hs.xsl/index_28310.htm

Not sure if it is up to the task or not but it appears to take the weight up to 250KG which should surely be up to the job.

Even if you only use it once and decide to sell it on again - might be cheaper than hiring an engine lift.

Ah cheers for that i will defiantly look into it would also need some chains as well

Thinking £60 for lift
chains or straps £15/£20
petrol to get to the nearest place £5

£85

Had a look on gumtree i could get a proper lift with chains for £100 second hand,

or hiring out is £33.45 then £16.73 per day extra, a week is £66.90 then im sure the deposit will be around £100

hmm dunno for the sake of giving some one £20 to borrow for a few days just makes it easier but il see cheers though

Is the van working at present, and how long would it take you to swap it all over and drive off. Question

If you're going to keep on spamming this company's services then you should at least try to spell their company name correctly.
