When I saw the headline to this story, I was quite appalled that any one could be as callous and uncaring as the driver of the council snowplough/gritter. I was amazed that anyone could just ignore someone that had fallen from their scooter and injured themselves. I felt very sorry for the poor scooter rider.
However, after reading the full article, I just thought...............what a tosser.

This happened to a workmate of mine some years ago when he came off his CB350. Luckily it was slow-moving traffic but the bastards were mounting the pavement to get around him. A woman walking past came to his aid in the end.

He's surpised it wasn't gritting or ploughing? I think he got off better than a face full of salt or being scooped up in the plough!

And when the gritter driver spent fifteen minutes sorting the scooter rider out, gets behind schedule and several other people crash on the roads he has to miss - everyone else will be moaning

So, due to his own incompetence and or bad luck he fell off his scooter and is now implying that someone passing by who didn't stop to help has somehow 'traumatised' him? What's the betting he tries to sue the council?

Zero sympathy from me.

Would I expect someone to get out their car and help if I came off my bike at speed and hit some roadside furniture or something and was obviously badly injured. Damn right.

Would I expect them to do the same if I dropped my bike at walking pace in the snow. No chance, and I wouldn't if I was in my car and saw someone do that.

Not unless they were obviously injured.
