I had 3 bikes in my 2 years of 33bhp, ranging from 53bhp to 120-odd and never bothered restricting any of them. I personally have never heard of anyone getting done for it.

Demonic69, i have, some lad i sort of knew on his aprilia was doing about 50, and the rozzers pulled him give him a fine, and told him he had to get it restricted, with the documents to proove it , so he did , 2 days after, de-restricted it again :s abit stupid, personaly dont see the point.

Out of the shrewsbury 'cru 2 are on A2 liecences, both ride bikes well in excess of 33bhp. 4 are on L plates and ride bikes rangine from 18 to 30bhp. all have been pulled by the police at some point, none have ever been found out.
Yes it is wrong, but it is very much an acceptable risk.

The rules are there to protect us, and I agree with them.

Fair enough I broke them but only after I'd been riding the GPz550 around for a few months restricted.
On my NSR I only de-restricted it once I'd passed my test, and I didn't do it all at once. Did the exhaust then the intake a couple of weeks later.

Bollocks, rules are there to keep us in line. What's it protecting me from?

Well I stayed legal for my full 2 years, all 4 bikes I had in the 2 years were either under 33BHP or restricted.

And even my scooter wasn't derestricted till I turned 17 Smile.

all my bike have been de-restricted, or not restricted to the silly 33bhp law, why should some one older than me with no experance on a bike do there cbt and then DAS (no testing diffrent apart from bike size from A2 test) in the same week and get to ride any bike when l,m limted to 33bhp and have been riding on a CBT for 2 years before my full test Mad

Erm...how about a 17 year old on a R1 with a rich daddy that's wildly misjudged an overtake and his only option is to cut into your path before being flattened by a lorry?

Riding around with those 33bhp restrictors can be dangerous in my opinion they should of restricted it for the first 2 years by cc, not bhp.

It's all swings and roundabouts mate, though at 17 - i know I wouldn't have been ready for all that power and I do consider myself to be a safe and careful rider.
