 |

Hi All,
Last time I got an air filter, I got a K&N Kit. Anyhow now it's came around to servicing, i've done the following;
1) Aquired a K&N Service Kit - Consists of a cleaner spray and an Oil (Squeeze, not spray)
2) Removed the filter from the bike, cleaned it in water and used the spray, removed bugs and generally got the filter looking nice and clean.
3) Waited about 36 hours for it to nicely dry out
4) Re-oiled it with the squeezy bottle, this said to squeeze on all the peaks of the filter and let the oil drain down. Wait 20 minutes. turn over, do the other side and you're done.
I done this but waited about an hour between turns just to give it extra time.
5) Re-fit the filter to the bike.
So with all this done, I started the bike, and it happily ran without issue. So all appeared fine.
Anyhow, a few hours later, I went out to the bike and found a small puddle of red fluid (same as the air filter oil) on the floor under the bike.
The bike still starts and runs fine but obviously i've put too much oil on. So short of cleaning it up, is there any issues this 'over oiling' can cause?
Advice from anyone that's been here before or is less stupid is appreciated. ____________________ Current Bikes: Honda CBR 600RR - '07, Suzuki GSX1250 FA ST '11

Nice one, cheers for the replies. I was thinking it wouldn't be that bad, but always nicer to check.
I'll reopen, wipe/clean and then should be good to go. ____________________ Current Bikes: Honda CBR 600RR - '07, Suzuki GSX1250 FA ST '11

It would appear that you're right Chris.
