Do you like them? If so why?

If you don't like them, why?

I own one and I love it. May not be the most powerful bike out there, and indeed a modern 600 has more HP and top speed than my bike but what it lacks in speed it makes up for in grunt and character.

Even with the standard cans on it sounds great and opening it up it growls rather than whines like an IL4.

Marmite bikes though, you either love them or hate them. Personally I would take my V2 over an IL4 happily any day of the week.

My twin is cushy for those with limited experience like myself.
Twist throttle and a smooth surge of power. I *believe some of the big IL4s and the crossplane R1s also deliver the power in a linear fashion.

*Guessing

What's not to like? Lots of low down grunt, a half decent noise... Is there actually any purpose to this thread? A better way of doing this would have been to add a poll, but whatever.

Easier to ride a twin IMO, more power/torque low down, no need to chase gears.

That and the Noise is epic. Laughing

Above all my SV is easy to ride, so as my first big bike that's perfect. Sounds good too.

I rode a lot of them, and I liked them. Nothing much more complex than that really.

I've ridden a 955 triple and a 900 & 1250 il4, my TDM still feels quicker/better low down.

I like both, but prefer IL4s, and especially IL4 600cc, I like a high revving bike, at least for a giggle on. Nothing against twins though, still lots of fun, they're just different fun.

I prefer ridding twins and singles, they seem to have more punch, I feel il4s either too smooth or to peaky.

Wouldn't want anything else powering my bike, what a great noise. Loads of torque too.

Aye, they're alright like. Had a couple, also have an IL4 litre (ish) bike at the minute. For sheer laziness the litre IL4 probably wins. For noise the v twin probably does. My ideal garage would have one of each.

Yes, because V engines are amazing
Ducati V twin is pure sex with the right tins
VFR400 Lovely V four
V6 cars
V8 cars
V12 cars
V16 engines.

V's rock.

And IL4s leave me cold with that horrid whine they make, more power or not, I would have to put a seriously baffled can to not hear the noise they make lol

i went from IL4 to v-twin and found it fun for a while as it was kind of a novelty having power below 10k rpm and real bassy exhaust note but after a while having all that power low down made things a bit dull and relaxed so i went back to an even more revvy IL4 Laughing .

I do miss the noise they make though. in an ideal world where i had loads of money i would have a 600rr8 and an SP-2 in my garage
