Dont suppose anyone knows how to stop the links provided by google from containing the referrer info.

enter the site and copy the address from the address bar is what i normally do.

you have to bare in mind when you copy from the search you are copy the linik/shortcut and not the site address

I agree, it pisses me off, its the same with pictures as well now, you have to click view fullsize image to get the actual source
I think its googles clever way of getitng people to link the google link so they go through google and not direct to site (So they can show ads etc)


Google has pisse dme off for a while
They bought youtube and since then youtube has got worse and worse and worse

Eventually they will end up removing all favorites and forcing you to view ads on every video

It's the only way google really has to track which ones you actually click on - which as well as all sorts of nefarious purposes, will also be used to improve searching generally.
Don't think it's really to stop you copying the original link as most would just follow the link, check it's what they want, then copy it from the address bar.

If the URL isn't too long, the full URL is shown in green anyway.

If you can't get one already, I'm sure it'd be easy enough to make a greasemonkey script to do it.

And yes, bing has cheated a bit with google; but google also indexes other search engines, I'm sure.
