I have been looking to get a bike lift for my DR350 and found some here

https://tinyurl.com/BikeLiftmx

What do you use to jack up your bike and how much was it?

Is it even worth getting one? Any suggestions on a make shift one?

I used one like this

https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Motocross-Enduro-Trails-Dirt-Motorcycle-MX-Motorcycle-Lift-Stand-/280805203345?pt=UK_Motorcycle_Parts&hash=item41614b5d91#ht_500wt_1217

I thought it was worth getting one but then it depends how much fettling you are going to do, with an off road bike that's going to be a fair bit.

It definitely makes it easier to work on the bike.

Same here, dead easy to use and fairly stable once the bike is up on it. The full bike ramp/lifts are extremely useful if you can afford one but the basic one-step stands are enough for me at the moment. I got mine from ghostbikes.com and it cost me £30 IIRC

I've got a hydraulic scissor style lift - does the job nicely. Pretty heavy to move around. Use a normal style single-lever one.

My one step stand was £20 up at one of the Dirt Bike shows a few years ago.I am thinking of painting it orange - for obvious reasons

My hydraulic lift cost £100 from a friend who had to give up bikes.

I got that off e-bay a couple of years ago, when I got the DT as a 'project'... It was a 'leader' auction & I think I got it for something daft like £40... without checking.

After years of using a milk-crate to prop up my Montesa, I was rather peeved to find we didn't have Milkmen any more to ask for a replacement when it cracked, so fixed a board to an old TV stand until that gave up!

TBH: it's 'useful', but not THAT useful; & the simple 'box' of an old milk-crate or TV stand, that doesn't have anything poking out the side to get in the way, can be as or more useful most of the time; proved by fact that I jacked the DT up to height on the hydraulic and have since pretty much left it there throughout the entire build, lifting it up onto the stand and off again when needed!

I've got a DRC HC2 one, cost about £50 delivered I think

Nice bit of kit but quite heavy and a bit pricey.

I've got two: a £30 step-up cheapie that's good for tinkering at the track, and a Fro ally frame one you lift the bike on to.

The step-up is a bit wobbly for any serious work and the Fro is a nice stable platform but of course you do have to heave the bike up to it so you wouldn't want to be doing that all the time. It's horses for courses and I got the Fro free with another bike - if I was just buying one I'd go with the cheap step-up, no point spending a fortune on something posher and no more stable.
