Test road a CBF1000 today and it felt awful, it was 09 with only 3k on it looked in excellent condition. But it rode so bad it felt like it didn't want to lean / turn smoothly, I ride about 10 different bike a day and this one was bad the only thing i could see wrong with it is a squared off front rye would this cause this feeling ?

Hmm this is how mine feels after i binned it, i thought it might just be a confidence thing but next time i pull it out ill check the shape of it. Afterwards i'll probably check the tyre and get a new one.

I've done over 10k on my tyres and the rear has been squared off for a while (still over 2mm of tread in the centre though) - getting a wobble in the steering when I let go of the handlebars and decelerate at around 35-40mph and cornering isn't much fun at the moment either... Wink

Bikes like to be ridden how the previous owner has been riding it. So if you get a bike that's been ridden by someone afraid to lean it will be scary as hell when you try to. tire pressures and suspension settings can make the problem much worse. Generally a softer bike wants to stay upright.

I had the opposite problem when i bought some ex race tires for my NC30. The middles were like new but the edges were gone. The bike didn't want to be upright! The slightest bit of input and it would flop over to the side, it was only ever happy at a 45 degree lean angle! Shocked Laughing I did some of my fastest ever riding on those tires and wish they did standard ones with that profile!
