So my visor has somehow gained a huge scratch in it which is beginning to annoy me, so I'm going to order a new visor just I'm stuck for which one to go for.

Box FZ-1 Visors

I was thinking about the Gold or Blue Iridium, but I think the Blue would be overkill since the helmet is already blue.

On that note, the plain "iridium" the pictures are deceptive, could someone explain a little better at what it looks like without the silly rainbow effects, or is that it?

Anybody have any suggestion?

Maybe the Silver Mirror?

If you buy one from there it will be road legal, the tint is something like 15%, you can see the tint somewhat, but you can virtually see straight through the visor.

Oh I know they'll be road legal Smile it's just a choice between what colour suits the helmet the most.

The tint is translucent enough on the pictures but will appear darker when on the actual helmet thou so it wont be as see-through... I think O.o Razz

This is what a road legal rainbow visor looks like, looks deep enough with the dark background, but put your face inside the helmet and your skin reflects a lot of light, it's the equivalent of wearing a clear visor.

But they are better than the full tint visors in some respects, since you don't have to worry about the sun going down, you can still use them in the pitch black (that's how clear they are).

If you look around the edges of the picture below, you can see straight through and see the padding inside the helmet.

ah, that's a brilliant picture showing the "plain" iridium one Smile So it is just like a rainbow hmm Smile

I'm not too fussed about it being 100% Reflective on the outside like a mirror, like other iridium visors are, I just want something other than a plain visor Smile

Still suggestions on what colour Iridium would suit my helmet better, or if I should take the Silver Mirror one would be nice Smile

would you like someone to tell you how many fingers to use on your missus?
or maybe what brand of toilet paper to wipe your arse with? hell, maybe you'd like someone to do it for you??

Seriously, this is a personal choice thing. buy what YOU like. why does everyone seem to need the opinions of people on the internet to decide what colour helmet/visor/bike/underpants to go for these days?

There is nothing wrong with asking for other peoples opinions, I cant decide between blue and gold so I'm asking for a little persuasion towards one or the other.

Just because you're so sure footed on making decisions doesn't mean everybody else is.

Im sorry if that was a but harsh, just seems like people can no longer decide what time to take a shit without the opinions of people they dont even know!

Any visor without a scratch is going to be better than the current one.

Seeing as your so intent on other peoples opinions, heres mine.

all blue will look shit. iridium will quite probably look shit, gold will quite probably look shit. clear or tinted will be just fine.

Trying to stay clear of the tinted visor, since I will be out in the dark, and I don't think a light tint is any good, I have an Internal Sun Visor anyway.

Still thinking the gold will be out of place, Pulling towards the silver more now ... hmmm

illegal black tinted visor and a clear visor.

All iridiums look horrible imo. Straight off of an SRAD in the 90s.

(Don't get me wrong, I love SRADs and want one badly. Just not a fan of the iridium screens every second one seems to have)

The more I think about it the more I'm drawn away from it... but I do like the Blue Iridium.. or at least the pictures of it on other helmets where its fully reflective and deep blue, but it doesn't look like that on the picture for my helmet, pretty sure the gold would be out of place...

Like I said a minute ago, the problem is I'll probably be out in the dark often, which means Carrying around that clear visor with the scratch in for at night time

Silver.... Tinted.... Silver.... Tinted... hmmmmm Sad

I've got a black one, was in a similar situation. Wouldn't mind a mirror to compare to.

Personally I find them better to ride in, removes all the glare from stuff and if you get a proper one it's only like wearing a weak pair of sunglasses.

I'd go for black or silver Thumbs Up

I've just ordered the silver one about 20 minutes ago, Carrying around the clear scratched one all the time will just end up getting it scratched even more in my bag, so Ordering the full tint one was out of the question after thinking about it a little Smile

Gold would seem too out of place and the blue would just of been overkill... so Silver Mirror it is Smile

Haha, not my fault Razz

With the amount of money you spent on a visor, You probably would of woke up with a killer hangover, or not at all... So I think the Visor was the better choice ^^

Considering you can currently get box helmets for less than 30 quid, I doubt I would spend that on a visor for one.

The helmet doesn't fit me properly any way, and that is the XS size. which is 540mm, my head is 560mm

So buying another one would just make no sense Smile

paying £18 for a visor rather than paying £30-50 for a new one that wont fit me again vs going to town and spending £50-80 on another helmet when I'm limited on cash is not going to be viable either Sad

the helmet i have at the moment is "XS 540" meaning its 540mm circumference right.

I measured my head when it started to become loose after the padding decided to top being so tight, and my head is 560mm circumference, meaning the shape of the BOX helmets does not fit my head properly.

So if I buy another BOX helmet, it still won't fit me properly, therefore useless to buy another box helmet.

I cant afford to buy another helmet for £50-80 or how ever much I can find a cheap one, in the local store in Dumfries, and Ordering one on line is out of the question since there is a good chance it wont fit properly.

so £20 on a visor is a ok fix for now.

I think what he's trying to say is the smallest size is too big for him.

I could be wrong?

I forgot to mention, the helmet is LOOSE on me, not TIGHT so a bigger helmet would just be even looser Razz

So he must have measured his head incorrectly or compressed the polystyrene by forcing a helmet that was too small on to his head.

Most of those helmets are available in XS as well but I think you really need to try a few helmets on to get an idea of your true size.
