Looking for high capacity enduro & the above is not on my original shopping list, but trying to keep an open mind.Expect to do 75% road 25% off road & this bike seems inexpensive & solid. The model i'm considering is over two decades old & needs some TLC.
Anyone out there had experience of similar model & vintage ?.

Hi Dave. The XR600 is an excellent machine if you pick the right year. The last of the breed with the single carb I consider to be the best of the lot.Previous models with the twin carbs were difficult to get running correctly and were not easy to convert to single carb because of the airbox and rear shock position.Several friends have had the XR600R (single carb) for green laning and the occasional enduro, but after they had ridden my XR400R they preferred the useability of the 400 over the outright power of the 600.

Have a look see at www.xrv.org.uk for other opinions about XRs.
