You on about interal speaker ? if so - what OS and rstart it for a start ...

Then you can check device maanger etc ...

Tried restarting? Sounds simple, but fixes a large amount of problems.

If you have to no success then +1 to the device manager checking.

OS is Windows 7, I would hazard a guess at the home premium 64-bit version.

Restart it then check your speaker drivers.

I would download the Ubuntu 11 CD and boot off it and check the sounds work. Then I now there is no hardware issue

Then I would remove the sound card in device manager and reboot/re-install

Check to see there is any new drivers..

Do you have a switch on the laptop for the sound?

Make and model of laptop?

Device Manager:-

Click on the Start Orb in the bottom left.
In the Start Search box type: device manager
press enter and you should see something similar to the below example.

You can remove it and restart, or select, update driver, or roll back driver ..

Either of these may fix the issue ...

Also possible your internal sound has malfunctioned.
