Yo,
You may have seen this before, but a petition has been set up to support a campaign to make it mandatory for car theory test learners to answer questions on hazard perception relating to motorcyclists. It has 27k scribbles already, but needs to have 100k for parliament to discuss it!

Would it make a difference really?
Those studying for the test should have revised all of the different types of possible questions, including motorcycle ones, as they have no idea what ones are coming up.
If you make a motorcyclist question mandatory, then you'd have to do the same for horse riders, cyclists, pedestrians, children, elderly people, animals...?
Even if there is a mandatory motorcyclist question, and they answer it wrong... the passmark is low and they'll probably pass anyway...
Upping the passmark from 43 (that's pretty low) to 45 would be a better step, I feel... at the moment you can walk in there and wing it with little to no preparation. Most of the questions are just common sense.
I agree with the sentiment, car drivers should look out for cyclists and motorcyclists a lot more than they do, but doubt this would make any difference to casualty rates at all... just my opinion! |

There's been plenty of campaigns, like think bike and all the adverts about driving safely around motorcyclists that I remember seeing on the TV
Doesn't matter, people will still be derps
But it cant hurt i guess ____________________ Fzr-600 1999 |

Nothing's gonna make people look out for bikes except real world experience with them!
I came from Scunthorpe and I don't remember seeing a single bike on the road during any of my car lessons. Cities are different, but in the towns and countryside there are virtually no bikes around so no way people get used to reacting correctly to them.
There should be a petition for more bikes on the road, although insurance companies seem to be doing a pretty good job of forcing young uns onto bikes with extortionate prices for car insurance. ____________________ current: ducati monster 750

Personally they should have a question on their test asking if filtering is lawful, no its not mandatory for people on bikes to filter. However when you do filter you get idiots thinking its against the law/jealous moving out to stop you. ____________________ CB125>CG125>GN125>ER5>K100RS>R1100RS>K100RS
