Yeah, sorry about that, it wasn't my intention. However, it did throw up some fascinating stuff about evolution, oxygen, ageing and dying in a very short space of time. So, without wanting to prevent the thread from continuing to entertain and educate with boobs, poo, spiders and bunny flattening experiments, here's the picture again, and the premise that Keanu Reeves' supposition is actually correct because oxygen is actually corrosive (oxidisation certainly don't like your bike), but we while we can't live without it, it's actually destroying us with every breath. Carry on chaps, it's enlightening.

hyperoxia (too much oxygen, at a higher than atmospheric partial pressure) can lead to oxygen toxicity, resulting symptoms ranging from nausea to convulsions.

Not just oxygen though... lets not forget the harmful effects of Dihydrogen Monoxide too...

A full bottle of oxygen rolled off a pallet at work and landed on a guys foot.
He was in plaster from his big toe to his knee for 6 months.
That oxygen is a right evil bastart.
It should be banned.

That's nothing compared to Dihydrogen Monoxide. The government puts it in the water supply!

[UPDATE] Ah, I see I'm not the first to have found out about this conspiracy. Spread the word.

They seem unaware of the dangers... there's so many...

heres just a few:

- major component of acid rain.
- contributes to the "greenhouse effect".
- may cause severe burns.
- is fatal if inhaled.
- accelerates corrosion and rusting of many metals.
- decreased effectiveness of automobile brakes.
- has been found in excised tumors of terminal cancer patients.

And despite all this danger, dihydrogen monoxide is often used:
- as an industrial coolant.
- in nuclear power plants.
- in the production of Styrofoam.
- as a fire retardant.
- in the distribution of pesticides. Even after washing your apple, traces of this product remain on the food.

You too?

The wee beads (styro-eggs) it fires everywhere.
That stupid squeaking it makes when rubbed with anything.
The static it makes.

and cetera.
