Got my module 2 booked tomorrow for 8:20, first go, passed my module 1 yesterday on my 2nd attempt, could use a few pointers.

As its 8:20 which is pretty much prime rush hour, in stockport which is one of the busiest places i know, does this mean that alot of my test will be spent whilst sitting in traffic ? And is sitting in the traffic the ideal thing to do, as i assume if i filter and the instructor decides to also, its pretty easy for him to fail you if you do the slightest bit wrong

I'm not saying im bad at filtering, but everybody has different thoughts on whats safe and what enough room is.

I know its only a 40 minute test, so is there a chance i could spend most of it sat in traffic ?

And any other pointers would be ace.

Thanks alot!

Pay attention to the road signs.

They will take you through 20 mph zones and expect you to slow down right away, same with the NSL roads, they will want you to get up to 60mph as fast (and safe) as possible, over taking traffic that's moving at 40 instead of 60 etc. Although they might not expect you to do that on a 125.

Over exaggerate your shoulder checks.

^^

I done my test at 8:20 in the middle of Dumfries, there was traffic heading into Dumfries, but we were heading out of Dumfries for the test, I got stuck at a roundabout and got pionts for hesitation on the roundabout for giving way to traffic on my right, obviously the instructor wanted me to jump the traffic as soon as I got chance, but I would rather get a point for hesitation than a point for Dangerous Driving (Means a fail)

They won't take test slots at 8:20 in the morning to be stuck in traffic would they Smile They'll know that the traffic will be busy coming in, but not going out probably the same as Dumfries Smile

Hi bud, good luck for mod 2, 08.20 thats a bumber, don't no your town but if anything like Inverness at that time busy to say the least. Filtering.. don't, your not expected to do so, and as youv'e said to much to go wrong, Schools and children areas be aware of, 20mph zones I would keep to 18 mph, all other speeds keep as close to limit as poss, lifesaver shoulder check like youve got a persistant tick, I can go on and on but have look at similar threads and you will get all the required info, good luck

Don't filter, sit in the traffic.

Test is around 45 minutes so lots of time to waste = less time to make mistakes.

Rush hour is good Thumbs Up

Good luck matey!

This ! Couldn't agree more - any delays through traffric, junctions, even level crossings is time off the test !! Ride carefully, remember your lifesavers, cancel them indicators and the VERY BEST OF LUCK !

Aye best of luck - rush hour traffic is a bonus - leave plenty of room to the car in front and..

DO NOT FILTER ON TEST!

appreciate all the good lucks guys! i would of been bricking it if i was such a f*ckin goon! i got all the way there in plenty of time and as i went to grab my bag on my bag... i felt no strap! turned out i left my bloody bag with EVERYTHING in it at home that i packed the previous night!

Even though i spoke to my examiner who had passed me on my mod1 TWO DAYS ago he said he could not take me out without seeing the documents first (and me of brought them in afterwards)

My own fault i know, grade a goon! gonna have to try book it for next thursday instead, gutted as its a lovely day and it was absolutely chocka block around the test centre!

^^Been there, done that .. wait .. no I haven't! Dude, you just wasted the best possible help mother nature could provide - awesome weather + rush hour mothers taking kids to school. So noone would blame you for not filtering (not to be done on the test anyway as far as I know!) ... could av been stuck behind a car for half an hour and job done.

HTH Thumbs Up

On a more serious side - better luck next time Smile

This thing seems to happen quite a lot, but i can't for the life of me think how! Next time do anything to remind yourself, or just bloody duct tape the bag to your face the night before, then you definitely won't forget it.
