Anyone used biketrader to sell their bike?

Just wondered how much it costs to put an ad on Bike Trader. I've looked through the site and can't find any obvious prices. I can't be bothered to go through the whole process to then be disgusted by the cost.

Its free but i have bad experiences, so many spam emails and people from ireland offering me bankers drafts and shit.

I've used it a few times, but found a much better response from eBay classifieds. A bike I'd listed and sold in 5 days was still getting calls 3 weeks later from the BikeTrader ad.

Use with caution. I failed to sell my bandit through them, and a year or so later got calls from Autotrader about my wife's car, which she had advertised herself using the same surname and address. They hung up when I questioned how they had got my number.

If you do, make sure you include "no agencies" otherwise they will try to pester you into submission.

I tried both when selling my 1800 Wing. Fuck all response from autotrader but I was getting phone calls from the continent from people who saw it on ebay.

Don't bother. I tried to sell my CBF125 on biketrader and got no response.

I put it up on Gumtree for free and sold it through there. Next step was ebay classifieds.

Autotrader is the nuts for selling cars, I've put 4 cars on and all have sold within 48 hours. It doesn't sound like Biketrader is much good though from these replies, which I'm a bit surprised about!

Sub-£1000 bikes being free to list?! On that basis I'd expect lots of sub-£1000 bikes to be on there, but there are relatively few within a reasonable range of me; eBay has more cheap bikes in the same radius. Guess Biketrader hasn't really caught on like Autotrader has?

Horses for courses etc. Agencies and scam emails are guaranteed with AT, but I got the genuine buyers too. I like eBay as well (I'm a Powerseller/TRS so I should), but I wouldn't sell a vehicle on there unless I wanted a quick sale and was prepared to accept a little less than it was really worth.

Everyone who called was from gumtree, including the guy that eventually bought it.

Bought my CG125, £470 off eBay.
Stuck it on Biketrader (advertised for FREE) for £675ono (joke price as I was in no hurry to sell!)
In one week: Four calls, two viewings, one reasonable offer = one sale, £525 cash.

No listing or final values to pay... just £525 cash... Biketrader win.

I feel like a right tool now.

I have a bike on Biketrader. Paid the £40 as was listed at £1100. Got nothing apart from the scam e-mails.

Only had 6 days left so reduced the price to under £1000 and had 4 inquiries in as many days. Hopefully it will be gone tomorrow at a pretty reduced price, but hey need the money

Autotrader is all trade vehicles these days.

Ebay classifieds as said Worth sticking it on Gumtree too as it's free.

I've had far better luck using Ebay classifieds than auction format.

It's all relative - mainly to the bike, and the audience to which you are trying to appeal to.

I sold my bike through Bike Trader just the other week. I placed the advert mid week and by the weekend it was sold.
