we're from the uk and you have to be 17 to get a 125, you can only get a 50 at 16...

In USA, (some states) you can the driver license when your 16. You have to 16 to drive 125 too, but will enjoy fullpower version (again: in some states)...

ok, kids, here how the law works.

L plates, 17+. 125cc, 14.6 (so 15) bhp.

L plates, 21+ 125cc, 14.6 bhp unless your on your DAS course.

after passing normal restricted test, you can have 33bhp.

if you are over 21, you can do DAS and ride any bike, any power.

well imo the whole 33bhp restriction thing is an absolute joke. They don't persecute young car drivers like that do they!

If someone at 17 want's to go fast, ride like a nutter and kill themselves, they can do it with 33bhp or 150bhp. If I hit an oncoming truck at 100mph on my restricted ZXR400, I'd die just as much as if I hit an oncoming truck at 160mph on a de-restricted Suzuki Hayabusa. And yes you'd do more damage at 160mph on a 200+kg bike than you would at 100mph on a 160kg bike but you're gonna do a LOT of damage with both so my conclusion is the entire restriction thing is an absolute load of expensive, frustrating useless CRAP!

well i think the whole reason they brought in the restriction laws where because people where passing there test at 17 and buying the cheapest fastest rocket on two wheels and killing themselves.
But there laws are confusing and theres so many if you ask me no wonder no one cares.
