Bought a gopro today

and pretty happy with it, need to charge it up and take it out on my other bike but the wide angle view is mint. Feels abit cheap but the picure quality is good.

Tip 2: Take your bike off the centre stand before you mount the bike. You will learn to handle the weight of your bike a lot better if you do this. One hand on the bars, one hand on the grab rail, up and over (or a circular motion) to get it off the stand.

If you point it the other way and ride silly, your collecting evidence againest yourself. I just wanted to see the qualty and how wide angle it was. As for centre stand you are right, I should know I spend all day taking bikes on and of stands.

With my GoPro I tend to stick to 960p resolution as full 1080p only records at 30/32fps and has a much narrower field of view which makes it less appealing to watch in my opinion.

Fantastic bit of kit though, love mine. I have a mount on my bike showing my speedo and allowing the camera to see through the screen ahead of me. I always have it on pretty much so that if I have an accident/witness an accident I have a video record of what happened. Stops people lying about it if you have video evidence!

Planning on getting an HD2 when I go to the states in June. £299 or $299? Hmmm.

Should be cool for the holiday (Yosemite and Death Valley ), and useful for camping in the Highlands in July.


Plus, I do like that 'looking back at the rider' shot, but would agree you have to cut in some regular forward shots.
Of course the answer is to buy multiple gopros and get different shots, if you've got the money!
