SORN query

Afternoon.

I got myself a lovely Hornet yesterday, and obviously transferred my insurance over from the SV.
The bike is in a friend's garden at the moment, but because it is uninsured do I have to SORN it? I'm looking to sell it also, I'm not sure if this makes any difference, except more hassle to un-SORN it when I sell it.
Just don't wanna get a fine for being guilty until proven innocent with our lovely laws.

Yes, you will have to SORN it if it's uninsured...

As far as I'm aware, the SORN will be lifted automatically upon change of ownership.

The Bike will need to be Sorn as it is now an offence to have a un Sorn bike, Uninsured, as it;s a relatively new law they are very hot at the moon this. You can sell the bike SORN without any problem as the SORN automatically goes to the new owner when the V5 is updated, all they have to do is Tax it and job done.

Just tried to do it on direct.gov but it says my reminder has been used too late -.-.

I'll have to go to the post office tomorrow morning and do it the old fashioned way . Should be alright won't it?
