£50 for my first, which I appreciated was a temporary measure...but 2 months later i'm still wearing it, it works fine
I'd pay £200 for a helmet i really wanted. ____________________ Fzr-600 1999 |

Shark RSI Thetys was £250 when i bought it, think you can pick them up for about £170.
Love it, really really comfy, quieter than my old AGV, padding is nicer to my delicate dry skin also And i like the ease of the Visor clipping on and off
Will defo have another Shark helmet. P ____________________ JACK, MISS YOU LOADS YOU LEGEND. |

I've actually got a cheap Box BX5 at the mo,
as I was skint when I kitted up and it had a pretty high safety rating and fits me really well. So doesn't seem so bad. Will likely upgrade when I get a bigger bike though.
Just to add I think it was roughly £50 (maybe a bit less)
there's one on ebay for £32 at the mo before postage o_O

Saftey is just one factor of a cost of a helmet.
I paid £380 for my Arai RX7, before that I have a £100 HJC and a £180 AGV.
The Arai has been the best value lasting 4 years whereas the others lasted 12-18 months. It's also nicer and lighter too wear. COnsiderin I ride every day it is well worth paying good money for a decent lid.
I'm looking at Spending £500 on a replacement for that soon.
I like this, but it is £620 https://2.bp.blogspot.com/_whR_FSwz6eU/TSee1gtAp-I/AAAAAAAAD_0/rh6ei7Gl3Ag/s1600/tomizawa-630.jpg If I can haggle over £100 off of it like I did with my Arai and it fits I'll be getting that. ____________________ Well, you know what they say. Now you mention it, my Box BX5 also mists up a lot, though I only really have the visor down if it's raining. I find if I leave it open a crack that it only mists when stationary.
Also found that buffing the inside of the visor with fairy liquid stops it misting for a couple of days ____________________ Current: Honda City Fly CLR125 2003 Honda CB600F Hornet 2008 Yamaha FZ6 S2 + 1991 Kawasaki GPZ500

First helmet was a V-can V190 worth about £35 which was thrown in with the bike but wasnt a good fit around my cheeks so I got this:
https://motorradhelms.info/wp-content/uploads/2012/02/825bb_integralhelm_mit_sonnenblende_510H51BfPOL.jpg
Shark S900, £150 and comes with anti fog coating which works well, a sunvisor and fits amazingly well.
I went to a shop and told the guy my budget of around £100 and we went around trying on hemlets in the price range but then quickly started ignoring price to find a shape that fits well, then I went off and bought my helmet at a bike show.
BTW If a Box helmet fits you nicely then you might want to visit the Mega Motorcycle store (the reborn George White store), they have box helmets for £15 and another one for £20 if you're after a bargin |

Got to agree with Chris-red on this one.
I have a AGV S4, which I paid £140 for, had it 5 years, no problems, great ratings too.
I've now got a RX7-GP:
https://s15.postimage.org/5tlmsfux3/image.jpg
I now ride 5 days a week commuting, then Saturday or Sunday rides too, especially with summer coming round so I can value spending £400 on mine. RRP £650
As Chris says, Arai helmets last years and are rated very well.
For fit, I prefer my Arai, also came with pinlock and loads of little vents which come in handy.
I had an accident in it where my head hit a van where he pulled out on me. I sent it off to Arai where they can X-ray it for you. Came back fine (which is good!) and they polished it up to new condition again and it was a free service.
Can't really put a value on your head, just as long as you think you'll be safe in what you wear. ____________________ Rides: Honda XR 125 ('03) Honda CBR 600F ('91), Ducati 916 Biposto ('95) |

My first helmet was Shark's S800 and cost me about £130 when I got my scoot a few years back. However, it stopped fitting me properly after I lost some weight around my face.
https://www.thunderroad.co.uk/250x294/shark-s800-butterfly-matt-blue.jpg
Second and current helmet is a HJC FS-11. Cost me about the £200 mark, but what I really liked about it was the air pump function it has in it to inflate or deflate the cheek pads for a better fit. My face gains/loses weight regularly due to some medication I'm on, so the HJC was a bit of a gem for me to find something that I could easily adjust on a constant basis. Only downside is that it gets a little whistly once you start picking up the speed, but as I'm usually plugged in, that's not much of an issue for me.
https://s1.visordown.com/uploads/images/productimage/31160.jpg
I'm personally happy to spend £200+ on a helmet, particularly if it fits me very well and/or has features that suit me (i.e. the air pumps). I try not to go wild with my budget, but I put fit over price as much as I can. ____________________ 'Just erotic. Nothing kinky. It's the difference between using a feather and using a chicken.'

My blue Suomy was £49, the HJC (which has clear and tinted visors and some anti-fog things) was £99.
Before that I had another £49 Suomy and a non-branded german thing that I picked up in Makro for £29.99.
2 more Suomys before those, yet another £49 one and one that I think was about £70.
I usually have 2 lids on the go at any one time, old ones are kept in the shed for emergencies or as loaners.
