just a quicky. bought myself a cbr600rr just over a week ago and my plan was always to put a chinese fairing kit on it. I had a hannspree kit on my old 600RR and loved it but i fancy something different on this one. I've narrowed it down to 2 kits and i cant seem to choose between them. I really like this pramac one but a mate who watches bike racing n stuff says i cant have it because pramac is for ducati's, i was under the impression it was honda but my knowledge of such things is lacking to say the least. would this look silly on a CBR?

While i'm here i'll show you the other kit, which would you have between the 2?

Your mate's wrong, it was on a Honda for one season, ridden by Tamada, 2003 IIRC?

Spot on, yes.

Also Alan Dowds from Superbike magazine had a replica of the Pramac scheme made and ran it on his CBR600RR in 2004, so you are certainly allowed, I'll try and find some pics of that.....

Managed to put my last one together pretty easily, that was a different seller though (no longer trading). had a few holes that needed cleaning up but overall was brilliant for what it cost.

This was my old one, still miss it Crying or Very sad

The correct answer is yes, you need to tell them. Race replica paints seem to affect insurance prices a fair bit from what I hear.

Although to be fair, some of us have been known to risk things and forget about certain mods on their bike.

a lot of honda's have the actual fuel tank further down in the bike and set back a bit, the thing you see as a tank is more like a cover for the air box. makes them good bikes to buy fairing kits for Very Happy

as for insurance, i never told them about the last one but i might ring up for a quote on this one although with the list of already undeclared mods it will be pretty pointless Laughing

I've been looking at getting one of these sets for a track day.

What would you do if you binned the bike and had to replace 1 or 2 panels?

Are there any sellers/manufacturers of these kits to avoid?

How does this affect your insurance? Your bike is registered as one particular colour on the V5, so if you put a different kit on would this not affect or possibly void the insurance?

Anyone have a pic of a chinese bodykit after it's been through a couple of typical UK winters? (And I mean with the bike on the road, not in the garage).

On the V5 It had the colour of mine down as mutli coloured, when I put the new fairing on it was also multi coloured so I didnt need to change it, but I was going to change the colour listed on the logbook before I found out it already said multi coloured.

It depends what is listed on the logbook.

my first cbr was down as red on the logbook, it was completely black when i bought it as it had been resprayed. I then had the white kit and sold it like that. I think it's a pretty simple procedure to change it on the logbook but im far too lazy to do it Laughing .

If it does get stolen and you wanted to claim for the bike you could argue that the thief had put that fairing on to disguise the bike Laughing

The second colour scheme is better IMO.

cheers BH Thumbs Up , been emailing them today and will hopefully be getting the pramac kit done as a custom job as they dont actually sell that particular kit, but they seem confident that they can replicate it from the other ebay listings Laughing

they seem much more professional and competent than the other sellers i have been in contact with and apparently have a different manufacturing process to all the other sellers which they seem very proud of Laughing

will hopefully be making the purchase tonight and should have the kit within 3 ish weeks. I'll post back in here when they arrive and do a little review on them.

How much would I get ridiculed if I bought a red bull fairing kit for a track day? I think it looks awesome and I'll look like Sebastian Vettel?

This one's quite nice, simplistic but eye catching: https://gundamhost.com/auctmarts/shop/product_info.php?cPath=118_53_141&products_id=499&osCsid=9da4b7da9c5ac9ab21123318afed5f4d

that one was in my top 5 when i was narrowing it down, i thought it was a new style repsol kit, not a red bull? Only thing that put me off was it looked a bit too much like herby Laughing . It is still a very nice looking kit though Thumbs Up

I purchased mine last night so if your not in a rush i can send you some detailed photo's of the fit and finish in a few weeks, although if its going on a track bike i would imagine you wont be overly bothered about perfection.

im pretty sure you can buy replacement panels from them too which is good.
