Hi all

Been seeing H&R insurance pop up a few times in convo, just wondering on peoples experiences as the quotes seem to be some of the better.

Currently with Bennetts, had 2 non fault claims and the turn around has been great with the legal team of theres.....for once some praise?

Only thing stopping me go back to Bennetts is I want to be able to ride other bikes and their limit is age 25. I didn't realise it last year when I booked it otherwise I wouldn't have taken cover with them.

I used to be able to ride other bikes when I was younger (now 24) with other insurers, it's just Bennetts being weird.

H&R on the other hand will insure me to ride other bikes and have legal cover, also cheap quotes but I've never heard of them before?

Should I get into a claim situation again I want a insurance they can help me out like Bennetts have?

This. I'd not needed to make any claims when with them so can't comment on their efficiency there, but setting up/ending the policy was no hassle, and at the time they gave me the cheapest quote.

I'm with H&R at the moment with my Hyosung Cruise II, which is £17.88 a month for me, I'm 22 and it was insured when I was on CBT.

Quick email to H&R asking them if I was insured to ride other bikes and if it cost me anything extra to have Pillion cover and they responded within with hour saying I'm unable to ride other bikes, and that they've added Pillion cover for no extra fee.

Also when I phoned up to say I had passed my module 2, they didn't charge me any admin fee's for changing my policy for that.

Overall they seem quite good so far Razz

I've claimed through H&R and found the service to be good. They passed the recovery of the bike/assessment onto another company called 3D claims or something like that.

Slight bit of hassle here as they kept ringing my house thinking it was my work number and leaving messages that none of us picked up. But after me thinking I haven't heard anything for a week I best ring up tomorrow, they rang my mobile and it went fine from there.

I got the money I put down the vehicle being worth and didn't have to haggle it up. Thumbs Up

2 years ago they were great, I would rate them highly based off that. I switched to a slightly cheaper alternative but regret it.

I have spoken to H&R several times about insurance and they are most decent in every respect. And competitive.

They wouldn't cover me for an R1 several years ago though. Maybe just 'a good underwriting decision'. Laughing

When insuring my first 'proper' bike, H&R kindly took my car NCB into consideration and consequently were the cheapest quote by far.

Thumbs Up

Thanks for the replies all!

Seems like they are a very good company going by your reviews.

I'll have to consider them if they offer a competitive price to Bennetts when I insure in April.

I'm with them now and can't fault them. When I had the r6 they were the cheapest and I then bought the r1 and still had 3 weeks left on policy. They give me a great price and said if I had the r1 with them they will carry the r1 on my 3 week policy for no cost and then were almost the cheapest on the r1. Also threw leather cover in for free as they delayed my docs and then sent me a pissy letter when it wasn't my fault as I hadn't received the docs.

Have been with them a year now, flat mate got stunning deal through them.

Changes to policy have been correctly made, have been patient whilst digging out no claims letters, customer service is spot on. Thumbs Up

They're cheap, never had to claim, but they seem rather helpful. The only disadvantage is they're Scottish.

I was with them a few years ago and had to claim against someone after being knocked off, they were good Thumbs Up

I've also just gone back to them this year and the people on the telephone seem as good as they always were.

Just so you know, they are one of those companies that require copies of all your documents (they give you 1 months cover till you send them this). They wanted copies of a signed statement saying all details were correct, either a copy of proof of NCB or a renewal letter with the policy number on, and copies of the driving licences of all riders on the policy.
