so i think i prefere left hand bends i feel more confident and always feel like i enter more agressively and exit faster however this could be a false sence just because more is going on.

this also works on roundabouts im more confident to throw it over and go out in a blazing glory off a roundabout than when turning onto a roundabout.

somthing feels almost un-natural going right in some situations, yet ive had more drifts going right. strange

anyone else have a prefrence?

Yep, lefts here also.

Turning right just 'feels' so unnatural to me.

I just thought is was me and because I'm left-handed.

Obviously I'm not on my own.

right, if you all prefer left handers.. are you all right handed?
I had a chat with a mate about this, my left handed mates prefer right handers, and right handed, vice versa, wonder if there is actually a connection, I guess the hand on the high end of the bar has more leverage, generally favourable for the main hand.... Things to ponder perhaps?

I used to have a preference for left so I voted that way but these days I don't think about it. Only seemed to happen in the last year or so but I certainly prefer not having an opinion.

Right, At least thats the way roundabouts go. You turn onto the roundabout left but the road then curves round to the right. So leaning over on the right side tends to get used more by me with the roundabouts in my area.

Coincidently, I just brought this question up in another topic.

I'm right handed but, I have always found turning left really natural. Unlike right turns. Had loads of trouble on my CBT turning right. So much so that in the end my instructor just started laughing saying "you just can't turn right". It seemed to really puzzle him, as my left turns were fine.

Although. I have learned to actually do a right turn, I still find it a lot less natural and difficult.

Would love to know the reason for this.

I'm a keen cyclist and rode for many years before getting into motorbikes and the left right concept just didn't exist. So I started to narrow down what the key difference were and in the end the issue was my body position on right turns affecting my right arm and thus throttle control. Once I became aware of that it made a huge impact on improving the situation.

I prefer lefts most of the time, normal bend left over right everytime left onto a roundabout no problem at all but exiting left screws me right up an I always run a bit wider than intended. I plan the line I'm taking just mentally position myself a foot further to the left than I want to ride an it works for me most of the time...

Left handers... feels easier to keep it tighter, right-handers I feel like I'm wanting to close the corner too much which might mean I end up facing an oncoming car in their lane.

Although I prefer big roundabouts most, as long as they're not wet or greasy.

And I'm right handed, if that does indeed bear any effect.

Most people feel more comfortable as you can get a more natural hand position on the throttle turning right.

Moving torwards the throttle seems to unnerve people for some reason.

I'm no more or less confident either way but I preferr left handers because you can continue to see clearly enough to overtake round them once you manage to get yourself out into the other side of the road.

I'm ambidextrous and prefer rights.

When me and Evo were teaching ourselves knee down anti-clockwise I wobbled and nearly fell off every other time.

That said I actually fall off doing righties Laughing but they feel 'normal' to me.

I can't my head around left hand drive cars.

I prefer lefts for the simple reason that if an oncoming vehicle runs wide during the corner they are likely to be heading away from me, rather than straight at me. Also on a left hand corner I can see fractionally more of the oncoming lane, so there is slightly more time to react to oncoming traffic.

Right hand bends are always best when I'm able to ride, going in on the left I feel like I can't see the road going around. Where as going on the right you get a better feeling of whats in front of you while I do anyway.

My theory is it's because we all mount/dismount the bike from the left, so we're more comfortable tipping it to that side.

I'm a leftie and prefer lefts.
