How many normal people sneer or roll their eyes when the word "Green" is pushed on then with its association with eco-friendliness?

There's your answer.

Given the fact such decisions are taken by "focus committees" and specialist marketing companies I'd hazard a guess it's supposed to let the punter associate the product with water or more particularly the sea. Environmentally friendly, perpetual motion, utterly reliable. Of course it may just be they guy with final say on marketing really, really hates green Laughing

All bad marketing can be blamed on one 45 year old guy with a Z4 and a ponytail named Sebastian - although he'd like the admin frippets to call him Seb.

Green = environment
Blue = Electric, cool.

So it's just a colour they want to associate more with.
Besides i don't like green as i can't see it properly. But blue is an awesome colour because i can Laughing

Mercedes use Blue Efficiency.

I notice Skoda use the term GreenLine.

I have a Bluemotion tech equipped golf and I think it's cause they make you feel blue when you get overtaken by all and sundry at a traffic light GP.

The traffic lights are turning blue tomorrow. At least, that's what Jimi Hendrix told me.

Thumbs Up

My perception is that Mercedes started the blue revolution with their BlueMotion. IIRC it started with a diesel engine employing selective catalytic reduction (SCR) in the exhaust. SCRs use a fluid known as AdBlue (a urea solution) as the reducing agent, to help mop up NOx.

I may be wrong, but that's my perception.

"green" in horse racing terms means not very advanced needs some work before they can compete and become a proper horse. So maybe "blue" can be taken to mean more advanced and better developed.
