I think it looks naughty, but knowing nothing about bikes, that's as far as I can assess it.

It's chinese, which means it'll rot, fall apart, break down and otherwise demonstrate what a bunch of useless prideless cunts the chinese are.

It's Korean, not Chinese. Operating purely on reputation here, but I have heard and generally read that they are a significant improvement on Chinese quality, whilst not really being up to Japanese standards.

From people's reports on here it seems it's perhaps not quite as reliable the Japanese bikes, but a good bit better than the Chinese.

The big issue I'd have with it is that it weighs rather a lot - the faired version is listed at only a smidge less than my GSXR1000.
A lot of people like the "big bike" look, but to me it's just stupid to have all that weight without the power to justify it.

Whilst on one hand it looks a modern and fairly nice looking bike on the other hand it looks pretty old fashioned...look at the frame and exhaust.....the swingarm looks pretty standard/generic too. Nothing that sticks out as being cutting edge but then is it going in this price bracket.

I'd say its a bike based on a 20 year old jap design tarted up for the 21st century.

That being said I think Hyosung has become a fairly useful alternative to the jap bikes at the small capacity budget end of the market. I've not owned one but I believe they are pretty reliable machines.

Well from what I've read on BCF from actual owners of Hyosung bikes they seem a fair gamble, as has been said, South Korean not Chinese...I end up looking more at Hyosung bikes due to their styling (love the RT125 too) and the bigger size of some of their bikes.

Love the TW's but I think they're too small, the RT's seem a better proportion.

I had a GT125 agesssss ago, one of the first or 2nd generation models.

That was reliable, and never had any issues whatsoever.

The attraction for me, was the size as I'm over 6foot, however, as previously been mentioned, the downside to this, is that it has a lot of weight for a 14bhp motor to drag around.

The frame is a GS500 or near as dammit, they're properly full size bikes with fat tyres, they claim 14bhp so - near the top of the allowed limit - and from the used prices I'm seeing, the owners are pretty much delusional and think they're worth more than most Japanese branded bikes. Wink

A mate of mine had one, didn't really rate it. Really big and heavy but with all the grunt of a 125

I had one.. here's my response to a similar question a year or so ago:

I had a Comet for a year or so. Not a bad little (big) bike. People were surprised that it was a 125. It is underpowered for the weight, but the upside of that is that the weight of a bigger bike was no problem after passing my test.

The engine took everything that I could throw it. No complaints there at all. My top-end speed was 60, 65 at a push. Great on fuel economy.

The finish wasn't all that great to be honest. It will rust really badly unless you look after it, particularly the header pipes and nuts and bolts all round. To be fair though, mine had been neglected a bit before I got it.

I would recommend one without hesitation as a learner bike to keep for a year or so. Just keep it spic and span.
