In the picture showing the bolt on top of the metal clamping through the abs plastic, something im sure to hell honda would never design (clamping plastic), the bolt does not go through the metal as there is a diameter for it to fit snugly in the plastic hole before going into the tapped hole on the frame. Therefore i cant see how this method works without modifications.

The other method is in the other picture, showing that the plastic surround will not house the rack as the profiles are completely different. even the middle centre cowel plastic piece on its own over the top of the metal rack does not locate or sit propperly and the plastic would have to be forced/bent for anythign to be any where near. This again is something im sure honda would never design.

Is there something im missing please can you explain how to fit this rack without modifications, any ideas?

many thanks.

I did try aswell just putting the rack on without the plastics to see what fit the seat would then be and it seemed the rack was preventing the rack from going back to its full position. I might just chop the arms down before the tabs and weld the ends to the top end of the grabrail already on.
