Scooter smash

Was driving home late one night this week, must have been about 2 or 3am, in my mates car, and we see this ambulance come flying past us. Anyway, to cut a long story short, we see this aprilia scooter with the front headlights smashed, 3 or 4 cars parked up, then this young kid lying on the road, helmet still on, with his feet up on the kerb, being seen to by the paramedics. Have no idea how it happened, whether it was him riding like a kid or a prick in his car, but my heart sank, hope the kid was alright, but it sometimes makes you think how easy it is to get hurt. Be careful out there guys, only takes 1 complete twat!

The problem is there is more than 1 tw*t out there..many not aware and seemingly intent on pulling out on us, not looking in mirrors or talking on their mobile phones.....

i tell you what, mobile phone drivers piss me off! was flying down the dual carriageway in fast lane, some bloke on my inside, who im now level with, just decided to creep in to my lane, no indication, didnt even see me, how he didnt hear me with a 2-stroke screaming at 80 mph i'll never know, but at the last minute he saw me, i would have been squashed against the central reservation if he carried on and prob wouldnt be here chatting now! these people need a beating!! he he!

thing is, i drive a car too, but riding a bike made me so much more aware of my surroundings and i think made me a much better driver for it. In an ideal world, every car driver should take a CBT at least, that'll solve all our problems! (If only it were that easy!)

I'm with you Mike - I've been drivin' for a long time and the one thing going on a bike has taught me is that bikers are very vunerable and exposed...
But that said - I now think I drive better in my car as I am aware how important it is to give bikers space and not come up too close behind them.... bikers are only human after all but they don't have the benefits of multi-point airbags and a massive roll cage....
