It looks like they are here now as well. They've destroyed the R1200R forum i used to be on.
However I'm sure and hope the admins will make a better job of preventing this than the Beemer forum.

Most of the spam you see here is just a small amount of the spam that the actual site gets, most admin stop spam before it even hits the page as I'm sure Kickstart or G will explain when they get on.

However don't worry it will all be gone soon or most of it anyway.

Guessing someone else got up before me Smile.

But yes, we remove a reasonable bit of Spam; this forum does attract quite a lot.

Please do rate posts as spam, but do not reply to new threads created by spammers, as that makes it harder for us to remove Thumbs Up.

How about if a post or poster attracts a certain amount of 'Spam' ratings all their posts are automatically moved to the Moderators Forum or something?

Or attachments/links/sigs disallowed until a user has (a) been here a week and (b) made at least 5 posts?

I've reduced spam on my forums from lots every day that mods had to go through, right down to maybe one or two a week.

To join the forums they have to answer one of 5 randomly picked questions and then confirm email address by clicking a link in an email.

1st post has to be in the new members section before being able to add a sig or take part in any other part of the forums.

I've also banned all the below emails from new registrations.

The biggest change was banning @gmail addresses, this one simple change all but stopped the spam overnight.
