I'm voting The Woman In Black (remake).
Anyone seen this at the cinema recently? Saw it last night, and have to say it was scarier than any other movie ive seen, beating Insidious imo. My gf couldnt watch a lot of it, though she is a wimp when it comes to horrors Laughing
I downloaded the original movie a few weeks and even that creeped me out, and it was made in 1989.

Anyone else seen it? Or could anyone recommend anything scarier? (im a bit of a horror nut)

The only film to really scare me was the japanese version of the Ring when I was about 13/14, but that could've just been the subtitles.

Was that because of Daniel Radcliffe's acting?

I saw The Woman in Black at the theatre in London, read the program that had the usual "this theatre is haunted" spiel and laughed it off. Nearly crapped my pants at the end of the play! The sound of the rocking chair rocking stayed with me for quite a while afterwards.

I remember going to watch Saw with a mate when it first came out, I think that was the scariest thing I saw in the cinema because he was pretty jumpy for a dude. First scare and he leapt right out of his seat and elbowed me in the ribs! Spilt my popcorn everywhere Sad

Japanese version of The Ring did me no favours, neither did the part of Paranormal Activity where the woman was dragged down to the basement. Im a bit of a chicken!

Easily frightened. Insidious was scary enough to make me poo my pants.

Watch the film, here's a snippet... https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=XabzeW-EBrE&feature=fvst

Ive seen some of Eraserhead, seemed more confusing than scary...
I would definitely recommend the woman in black though, tempted to go and see it again. Insidious is a close second, also The Awakening is probably 3rd on my list, that does have a few brown trouser moments.

haven't seen any of them, but I don't think there is such a thing as a good horror these days... well unless you count teen musicals... they have me running screaming from the room every time.

Although kind of on the same subject, first movie to frighten the life out of me was American werewolf in London... nobody told me it was a comedy Embarassed mind you I did have sick parents that let me watch it when I was 9-10.... my dad was right into his horrors so I had the misfortune of watching them too.

Stuff like faces of death are the only movies in my later years that have had me slightly cringing at times

I have not been able to watch anything since Carry on Screaming. nothing even comes close to the horror in that film.

There was a low budget movie out called "the haunted." Its a 1991 movie and I wish I could get a trailer for it. I know the full movie is on youtube here.

Basic story is about a family who didnt believe in ghosts until they moved into a victorian house and were haunted by 3 ghosts and a demon. What makes it scary is the serious lack of special effects. There are some seriously eerie bits in the movie that just send the chills up your spine. After that then the rest of the movie just add to it.

Great fun. Theres not many movies that scare me, but this one did do a number on me.

Stephen Kings "IT" with Tim Curry as Pennywise the Clown.

As a child that was the only film to give me nightmares, obveously excluding the OTT spider crap at the end.

I saw the the trailer for 'The Devil Inside' a couple of weeks ago. That shit me right up. Sad

I'm a complete wuss when it comes to psychological thrillers and the like. Think my imagination is too active.

I was really young when I saw this (my uncle wasn't very good at babysitting children.) Gave me nightmares for weeks. Got the urge to watch a few months ago, and can't really see what I was scared of now, but I remembered it as being a nightmare-inducing affair.

Funnily enough, I didn't recall the spider at the end. What an absolute crap way to end it.

too true. it wasn't scary at all.
the first time dan appeared on screen all i had playing in my head was the harry potter theme music.

not seen a film that really scared me for a long time, some that have shocked or been a little tough to watch would be hostel.

watched human centipede 2 the other day, it is fucking dire. just a terrible film purely made with shock value in mind to get refused bbfc (to be banned) for massive publicity.
it wasn't even particularly extreme.

One of my favourites and the most scary I can remember watching recently is "mirrors" with Kiefer sutherland. The monster at the end is pretty creepy and the way the demon attacks them is interesting Smile

Well ive seen pretty much all the main horror films, and a lot of less known ones.
Whack Human Centipede 2 on for your 12 year old, and see if her feedback is still 'its alright' lol

Eraserhead = just plain weird

Woman in black, I haven't seen but it can't live up to the play in the west end. Went to see it and it was awesome.

Insidious. Are you joking? That was the most "meh" horror film I have ever seen.
